Rifle Paper Co. x Target, Kat Ashmore, The Crown Auction, and more on Weekend Meanderings.
WEEKEND MEANDERINGS
Good morning and a happy Saturday to you! It’s time for weekend meandering with friends Kim and Juliet. This is our weekly series where we share all of the things that piqued our interest and caught our eye over the past week.
Can you believe it is already February? The good news for many is that Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow, meaning an early spring. To be honest, we haven’t had a bad winter, don’t get me wrong, we have had some cold days but for the most part it has been mild.
There are buds on the trees and early daffodils are popping up, no flowers just the stems. The seed catalogs are already sold out of many popular seeds so if you plan on a garden this year you better get in gear.
I am not sure what I feel like planting or doing this year, it was a little depressing last year because the deer ate all of my hard work. We also have 9 dwarf gardenia that need to be replaced this year, not sure if the soil needs to be amended or something else. Gardening is not my expertise but I am determined to learn.
What about you? Do you have your seeds ordered? Are you ready to start gardening? Excited for an early Spring?
Ok, let’s get to weekend meanderings.
Rifle Paper Co. x Target Collection
Over the years Target has had some great collaborations, the last with John Derian was one of my favorites. This week, on February 4th, Target and Rifle Paper Co. are launching a new collaboration. Rifle Paper Co. if you are not familiar, is known for their stationery products, home decor, hand painted mugs, and gifts.
The new Target line will feature candles, planters, art, lighting,( this lamp is my favorite) furniture and lots more. The furniture comes in up to 10 patterns and many of the other pieces only 2-4 patterns. You can preview the products online and order February 4th if you see anything that you like.
NOTE: If you missed out on the collection you can find some great Rifle Paper Co. products in my Amazon shop.
One to follow~Kat Ashmore
Today I am going to change things up and instead of sharing a designer I am going to share a chef! Kat Ashmore, is a professionally trained chef, recipe developer and producer for Martha Stewart, social media influencer, and now a New York Times best selling author.
I first discovered Kat Can Cook on Instagram, when a friend sent me a recipe for “hungry ladies salad.” From then on I was hooked not only on Kats’ salads but her healthy, delicious and easy recipes and her honesty and personality. Most of Kats’ recipes are gluten free, healthy and seasonally inspired.
With a combined social media following of over 3 million people Kat decided to write a cookbook this past year and just a few days ago it became a NY Times best seller.
My copy of Big Bites: Wholesome, Comforting Recipes That Are Big on Flavor, Nourishment, and Fun arrived a few days ago and I cannot wait to start making and baking the recipes.
If you don’t follow Kat you can find her on Instagram, Tok Tok, Youtube, Facebook and all the rest but I would start on her website.
The Crown Auction~Bonhams
Are you a fan of the Royal family or the Crown? Did you know that this week there is an auction of items used on the series? The auction is being held online at Bonhams and includes 450 costumes, set pieces and props from all six seasons. The auction ends February 8th.
Even if you don’t want to purchase the Queen’s coronation dress, or the gates to Buckingham palace it is fun to look at the props. You can view the entire catalog here.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT~THIS WEEK ON THE BLOG
Monday I shared something to watch, something to wear, something to read and lots more.
If you have already read this book or missed something I have featured before on the blog check out My Bookshop on Amazon.
You can find the outfit details below.
Wednesday I shared this easy to make heart shaped cake made without a heart shaped pan! Yes, you too can create a scrumptious and beautiful homemade heart shaped cake for family and friends to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
And last but not least Friday Favorites! I shared a few Game Day/comfort food recipes, like this Korean beef burrito, several books and interesting articles and a classic outfit.
The combination of black and fuchsia is one of my favorites, it is classic with a pop of color. A pair of black trousers can be worn with heels, flats, and even trainers, add a cardigan and a bag and you are ready for the day.

Elizabeth, I so understand about your frustration with planting! It really is a struggle sometimes. Even now, 12 years into this house I am still realizing some things just won’t thrive. I hope you have better luck this year. I am also ripping out a bunch of things and replacing this spring… Sigh.
I will check out the Rifle paper CO collab. This cookbook looks fun and I have to go back and read more about her! She is new to me. I need dinner ideas always.
Love the heart cake! Sweet idea. I may need that cute lilac button -up in the outfit!
I hope you have a lovely week! xo
