Friday Favorites~a weekly series where we share our favorite books, decor, fashion finds, recipes, podcasts, articles and more.
Good morning friends. Happy Friday and happy February. It is the month of transitions, from long dark, cold nights to lighter, brighter warmer days. The month of leaps, from winter weather to touches of spring. Not to mention, this year we leap on the 28th to an extra day. It is hard to believe that it’s already the second month of the year!
How was your week? Mine was BUSY and I am just now coming up for a breather. I was out and about everyday this week for errands, appointments, dinners out, etc.
The only thing on our schedule this weekend is drinks Saturday with friends and Sunday mass and brunch with the family. What are your plans this weekend?

If you like Korean beef you will love this burrito!

Tacos meet quesadillas in this Crispy Black Bean Tacos recipe!

Cold winter days call for white bean Tuscan soup.

Make these scrumptious cupcakes for game day or Valentine’s Day.

Good Guys Love Dogs
She’s Main Street. He’s Wall Street.
Desperate father Ian McKinley moves his delinquent teenage son to the small Virginia town of Keeling Creek, a place very unlike the New York City life he has been leading. Love takes him by surprise when he falls for Colby Williams, a woman unlike anyone he has ever been drawn to, a small town vet with a heart for animals and a fierce love for a teenage daughter she is also struggling to raise.
But Colby has a secret in her past, a secret she’s not sure her daughter will ever forgive her for. And as for Ian McKinley, he seems too good to be true. If she had learned anything from the one time she had thrown her heart fully into love, it was that it didn’t last.

The Hotel
The Whitley is Nantucket’s most exclusive waterfront hotel – a sprawling collection of pristine white cottages and an elegant main building on a long stretch of private white sandy beach. It’s a family owned business – brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, all work there in various capacities.
Paula is happy in her back-office accounting position. But changes are in store when her grandfather promotes her and fires her cousin – who then blames Paula.
Meanwhile, a blond romantic-comedy superstar is hiding out at the hotel for a few months. She meets Paula’s brother, a chef – who has no idea who she is – and she likes it that way.
Paula’s grandfather also hires a consultant to help her settle into her new role. But she isn’t sure what to think of David, who grew up on Nantucket but now lives in Manhattan.
He’s a brilliant consultant and will be assessing Paula’s suitability for the role. He’s also home for another reason, a difficult family issue that makes Manhattan seem very far away.

Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era
“There are certain women,” Truman Capote wrote, “who, though perhaps not born rich, are born to be rich.” Barbara “Babe” Paley, Gloria Guinness, Marella Agnelli, Slim Hayward, Pamela Churchill, C. Z. Guest, Lee Radziwill (Jackie Kennedy’s sister)—they were the toast of midcentury New York, each beautiful and distinguished in her own way. Capote befriended them, received their deepest confidences, and ingratiated himself into their lives. Then, in one fell swoop, he betrayed them in the most surprising and startling way possible.

OUTFIT OF THE DAY

The combination of black and fuchsia is one of my favorites, it is classic with a pop of color. A pair of black trousers can be worn with heels, flats, and even trainers, add a cardigan and a bag and you are ready for the day.
