MONDAY MUSINGS NO. 123
Good morning friends! Happy Monday! How was your weekend?
Is it just me or does anyone else feel a little discombobulated after having guests? I am a creature of habit and I like routine. When we have people in town that goes out the window and it messes me up. Maybe I am getting old?
This weekend was quiet and rainy, the perfect excuse to stay in and get some stuff done. Basically we had a boring but productive weekend. The laundry is finished, the mail is sorted and anything ordered that didn’t work out is back in boxes to be returned. Sympathy, graduation and get well soon cards are mailed.
Between the rain we cleaned up the pinecones and debris from the beds. Today we have a guy coming to blow all of the pine straw off of the roof, yes that is actually something that needs to be done. The needles fall from the trees and cover the house, not only does the HAO frown upon that but the needles clog the gutters and cause other issues.
Hopefully this week the schedule will be set for the tree repair. One of the obstacles is that to match the brick the company wants us to purchase 2000 bricks. We do not need that many and it is an expense that we and the insurance company does not want to take on. Should we end up going that route I have plans for all of the extra bricks but hopefully we can find another solution.
As for the bathrooms, we are waiting for the stone template on the powder bath and still looking at wall papers, but everything else is ordered or is sitting in the house waiting to be installed. The master bath is back at square one because we changed a bit of the design. One step forward two steps back.
What about you, what did you do this weekend?
Ok, on to +5 Things.
1. READ~
American chef Georgia May Jackson has one goal—to run her own restaurant in Paris. After a grueling decade working in Parisian kitchens, she is on the cusp of success. But in one disastrous night, Georgia loses her sous-chef position, her French boyfriend, and her sense of taste! Renowned for her refined palate and daring use of bold flavors to create remarkable dishes, Georgia is devastated to discover her culinary gift has simply…vanished.
When she receives a surprising invitation from her estranged mother, Georgia flees to a small island near Seattle hoping the visit will help her regain her spark in the kitchen. As she tentatively reconnects with her mom, a free-spirited hippie eager to make up for her past mistakes, Georgia realizes there is something about the enigmatic island she just cannot piece together. Good luck charms start appearing in the oddest places. Her neighbor is a puzzlingly antagonistic (and annoyingly handsome) oyster farmer. And her mom keeps hinting at a mysterious family legacy.
With the clock ticking and time running out to win her dream job in Paris, Georgia begins to unravel some astonishing secrets that make her wonder if the true recipe for a charmed life might look—and taste—very different than she ever imagined.

OUTFIT OF THE DAY
Classic separates never go out of style, button down shirts, white jeans and even a little gingham thrown into the mix for a casual, preppy look. Pink and green are some of my favorite colors, I do not often wear them together but I do love the look. This week I put together a pink Oxford with white jeans and a pink and pale green gingham sweater. What do you think?

I just finished part 1 of this season of Bridgerton and have the same link ready to go for next week’s post too, Elizabeth. It’s such a great series and fun to think about visiting the places where some of the scenes have been filmed. How exciting that you have lots of projects in the works, I’m excited to see how they all come together. Well, I’m off to dive into your fabulous links. Hope you have the most relaxing rest of your week and weekend, CoCo
