MONDAY MUSINGS NO. 122
Good Monday morning to you friends, how was your weekend? If you celebrated Mother’s Day what did you do? I hope whatever it was that you were with those that you love.
Were you able to see the Northern Lights? Friday it was clear and many in the village saw them but I forgot to look. Saturday it was too cloudy. Oh well, I enjoyed seeing everyone else’s photos.
We had a great weekend. The weather was so beautiful, cool in the morning, just like I remember summers in the Midwest, then sunny and warm in the afternoon. Friday I spent part of the day with my sister and niece and then had a massage. A nice way to start the weekend.
Saturday I baked a scrumptious cake I will share with you later. Then my sister, sister-in-law and two nieces and I headed to the club pool to while away the afternoon. We sipped cocktails, swam, soaked up the sun and talked with friends. It was my nephews first day of his summer job as a lifeguard so we went to support him.
Sunday was of course Mother’s Day and my fur kids and I had a great day! Hot chocolate and breakfast, then a long walk. After that more time experimenting in the kitchen with strawberry shortcake biscuits.
A beautiful summer weekend at home with family. What about you, what did you do this weekend?
Ok, on to +5 Things.
1. READ~

If you read and enjoyed 84, Charing Cross Rd, I did, you are going to love The Duchess of Bloomsbury Street!
When she’s invited to London for the English publication of her wildly successful book, 84 Charing Cross Road—in which she shares two decades of correspondence with Frank Doel, a British bookseller who became a dear friend—New York writer Helene Hanff is thrilled to realize a lifelong dream. The trip will be bittersweet, because she can’t help wishing Frank was still alive, but she’s determined to capture every moment of the journey.
Helene’s time in London exceeds her wildest expectations. She visits landmarks like Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle; explores Shakespeare’s favorite pub, Dickens’s house, and the Oxford University courtyard where John Donne used to walk; and makes a host of new friends from all walks of life, who take her to the theater, introduce her to institutions like Harrod’s, and share with her their favorite corners of countryside.

OUTFIT OF THE DAY

Getting dressed is sometimes a chore, we stand in front of a rail of clothes and think “I have nothing to wear.” When that happens t you next time reach for a dress, a shirt dress, a caftan, or maxi or a mini whichever you like. A dress is an outfit in one piece, simple and beautiful.
Pair it with your favorite sandals, a bag, earrings and a spritz of your favorite perfume and you are ready in no time at all!

On My Radar

Elizabeth it sounds like the perfect weekend. Happy Mother’s Day and I spent time with Reeses. A bit bitter sweet without Peanut.
So many great links, Elizabeth! I did get to see the Northern Lights and it was breathtaking. I’m always looking for something to put on my watch list, so thank you for recommending “Billy & Molly”. I hope you have a spectacular week ahead! Be blessed
