Fall reading, Little Women, Black and blue Fall outfit and more on Monday Musings.

MONDAY MUSINGS NO. 138
Good morning friends, it’s September! Happy Monday Musings and happy Labor Day.
Can I be honest? I am worn out from all of the fun. We have been on the go since Thursday morning and we will end the long weekend with a barbecue today at 2:00. Birthday parties, pool days, days at the beach club, shopping, time with friends, a bbq festival and so much more.
I really need another day to recuperate. But I have appointments all week, starting tomorrow at 9:00 am so that is not going to happen.
How was your weekend? What are your plans for the day? Are you “ready” for Fall and the start of the changing seasons?
Ok, on to +5 Things.
1.READ~

A little light reading to get ready for cozy season.
The City Baker’s Guide to Country Living
When Olivia Rawlings—pastry chef extraordinaire for an exclusive Boston dinner club—sets not just her flambéed dessert but the entire building alight, she escapes to the most comforting place she can think of—the idyllic town of Guthrie, Vermont, home of Bag Balm, the country’s longest-running contra dance, and her best friend Hannah. But the getaway turns into something more lasting when Margaret Hurley, the cantankerous, sweater-set-wearing owner of the Sugar Maple Inn, offers Livvy a job. Broke and knowing that her days at the club are numbered, Livvy accepts.
Livvy moves with her larger-than-life, uberenthusiastic dog, Salty, into a sugarhouse on the inn’s property and begins creating her mouthwatering desserts for the residents of Guthrie. She soon uncovers the real reason she has been hired—to help Margaret reclaim the inn’s blue ribbon status at the annual county fair apple pie contest.
Â
With the joys of a fragrant kitchen, the sound of banjos and fiddles being tuned in a barn, and the crisp scent of the orchard just outside the front door, Livvy soon finds herself immersed in small town life. And when she meets Martin McCracken, the Guthrie native who has returned from Seattle to tend his ailing father, Livvy comes to understand that she may not be as alone in this world as she once thought.
Â
But then another new arrival takes the community by surprise, and Livvy must decide whether to do what she does best and flee—or stay and finally discover what it means to belong. Olivia Rawlings may finally find out that the life you want may not be the one you expected—it could be even better.

4. SHOPPING BREAK~FINDS & SALES
Have you been shopping the Labor Day sales? There are lots and lots of deals. I have been perusing and do have a few things in my cart, including the wide leg pants in this collage and the jacket.

If you have filled the blog for more than 5 minutes then you know I love the classics, books, decor and clothing. Todays outfit has a few of my favorite classic pieces, a white button down, a double breasted jacket and black riding boots.
All of these pieces can be worn in the Fall and winter and for years to come. Not to mention black and blue work well together and with other pieces in your wardrobe.
While you are shopping the sales, look for pieces that you will love and wear, t-shirts, blouses, sweaters and jackets to pair with your favorites from years past.

THAT’S ALL FOR NOW

That horse book looks amazing! I have a daughter who probably needs it:)
You didn’t stop all holiday weekend, and I didn’t do anything. I guess that kind of makes you an extrovert and it obviously makes me an introvert.
Brenda
Brenda, we had guests all week that is the only reason I was running hither and yon. Hope that you have a wonderful week.
