Weekend Meanderings
Good Saturday morning friends. It’s time for Weekend Meanderings with Kim, Juliet os taking a few weeks off but will be back soon. Join us as we share all of the things that piqued our interests and caught our eye this week.
It’s been chilly this week, and a little gray and it feels like Christmas. I was so hoping that we would get snow but alas it was not to be. Maybe we will be lucky later in the season.
This morning we are off to get paint. When the electricians were here they had to cut 2 holes in the walls. Yesterday the drywall man was here to repair them. Unfortunately, our painter is booked solid and we want the room painted before the fireplace is installed. Not to mention before our friends and family arrive. So today we are painting, wish me luck, painting is my least favorite thing to do.
This holiday season we have had a lot on the calendar, but it has been fun and I am enjoying every minute of the festive fun. Tonight we are going to a classical Christmas concert, then we have friends coming in town on Sunday for a few days. We will have a few days to recuperate before family arrives for Christmas. I cannot wait.
What are your weekend plans? What fun Christmas activities have you been enjoying?
Ok, let’s meander.
The Winterkeeper
As the cold weather approaches and the seasonal transformation begins, he hunkers down in his remote mountain cabin. But Fuller and Yellowstone face an uncertain future, with the climate crisis threatening to forever change one of North America’s last great wildernesses.
This is a fascinating look at Yellowstone! Can you even imagine living in Yellowstone park for over 40 years and raising a family? I’ll be honest, I would be a little afraid to be that alone.
Mountain Girl
An award winning, inspiring short documentary about overcoming obstacles and aging gracefully.
Beatrix Ost Life Lessons
Beatrix Ost is a world class writer and fashion designer, she immigrated to the US from Germany after WW2, and her 60+ year journey has led her to realize some incredibly thought-provoking life lessons. I think you will take a lot away from this one.
Joshua Charow
Clara Aich was born in Budapest, Hungary and has an MFA in photography from Vienna’s prestigious Graphic and Research Institute. She works in her historic brownstone in Manhattan. Her pictures are inspired by passion and beauty even as they capture reality with detail and accuracy. She worked on artistic and creative projects in locations like India, Africa, South America, Indonesia and Europe.

Homemade Gift~Cranberry Cordial

I LOVE to make and to receive homemade gifts!
This year, as I have for the past 10 years, I made homemade cranberry cordial. It is the easiest homemade liqueur to make and there is still time to make some to give to family and friends. You can also serve it along with your favorite mulled wine or wassail.
My favorite way to enjoy this cranberry cordial is to use it in place of creme de cassis in my version of a Kir Royal.
You can find the recipe, tips for cocktails and suggestions for what to do with the wine soaked cranberries, here.
This is perfect in a gift basket with a bottle of champagne, some homemade spiced nuts or some chocolate truffles.
