FRIDAY FAVORITES NO. 620
Good morning friends, how has your week been? It’s been a cold, icy and snowy week. I have not left my neighborhood all week. I did venture out for a walk Wednesday morning and nearly broke a few bones slipping and sliding along the road. Aside from that I have been inside cosy and warm working and watching the progress on the bathroom. We and by we I mean the contractors are getting so close to finishing the two bathrooms, all that is left is the electric, plumbing in one bath, paint and finishing work. Then the floors in the bedrooms and the windows.
The kids have been out of school all week and they have another snow day tomorrow because of the cold and ice. I am sure they are loving it, their parents after a week not so much.
Ok, let’s get to Friday Favorites, I have lots to share as always.
FOOD

I have had chuck roast but I have never had chuck roast tacos! Have you? I can’t wait to make them.

If you love homemade pizza but want something simple, fast, and delicious French bread pizzas are the perfect solution.

Kale and white bean soup recipe with lots of vegetables including celery, carrot, shallots, cannellini beans, fresh kale leaves, and more.

Why not bake a batch of blueberry muffins this weekend?

The Tea House on Mulberry Street
The old tea house on Mulberry Street in Belfast hasn’t changed much over the years. But it’s about to bear witness to some significant transformations Daniel Stanley might make the most glorious deserts in the whole of Ireland, but he won’t support his wife Penny’s desire to have at least one bun in the oven. And the owners of Muldoon’s Tea Rooms are just two of the people inside hoping for change. Struggling artist Brenda sits penning letters to Nicholas Cage and dreaming of a better life. Sadie finds refuge from her diet and her husband’s infidelity in Daniel’s famous cherry cheesecake. Clare returns home from twenty years in New York, still cherishing the memory of the one night she truly loved and lost. And Penny herself discovers a secret from the past and a sexy estate agent very much in her present. They all want their lives to change but are they willing to face the consequences? And the possibility that you might not always be able to have your cake and eat it.

In a quiet Notting Hill street, Joan sits alone with memories of the man she walked away from one New York evening years ago. In need of company, she advertises for a lodger.
Jess knows it’s time to move on from her best friend’s couch, where she’s been crashing since her boyfriend emptied out her heart, and all her savings. But when she responds to an advert for a lodger in Notting Hill, Jess has no idea how life’s about to change.
When Jess meets Joan, she recognises someone needing a way back into the world, and she suggests a switch: if Joan will agree to go on-line, she will go off-line. And when Jess discovers Joan’s library of lost love, she decides to follow the trail, little realising that in Joan’s story lies her own unexpected new beginning…

The Secret Ingredient
It’s been three years, two weeks and one day since Kate Shaw’s life changed forever. Three years, two weeks and one day that Kate has been angry – with herself and life.
But today is different. Different because Kate has finally taken the step she’s been avoiding…back into the kitchen. Now, what begins as a (disastrous) attempt to make pancakes becomes a culinary journey that is not only a love letter to someone so important to her, but also an unexpected means of connection to a community she never knew she had…

Window Shopping

I love the classic look of a white shirt or blouse under a sweater vest, some may call it old fashioned but that’s what I am. It is a cosy look that works with jeans, a skirt, and slacks.
Shop the Look
There are so many great sales! I did buy two dresses that I have had my eye on from the Tuckernuk sale. Originally I had about 8 dresses in my cart and then I decided I need to be realistic about when, were and how often I was going to wear them. All of that is to say, there are some beautiful things on sale there.

Also, Boden is having a sale as well and there are so many things that I shared from the Fall and Winter collections over the past few months, like this coat, this shirt, and this dress, and blouse.Â

On My Radar

You probably shouldn’t ask how the week has been going with the new president and all the horrible things he has done already. So my week has been sad and stressful and aside from a cold, depressing. I’m learning ways to avoid over saturation of the news and self care.
My Book Club is reading Sipsworth and I’m getting ready to begin it. Have you read it?
Also I’m getting ready to get caught up on All Creatures Great and Small and watching lots of Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep videos to get my humor and laughter quotient filled
Nanci,I have not read Sipsworth yet. I have it on my list at the library and am awaiting my copy. I cannot wait to read it. I like to watch English cottage renovations on Youtube, they are always interesting and help with stress.
I hope that you have a wonderful weekend.
