Monday Musings No. 162
Top of the morning to you friends. Happy St.Patrick’s Day to you. Did you have a nice weekend?
Our weekend was lo-key and fun. Friday we went to the club to watch glow golf, which is exactly as it sounds golfing with glow in the dark balls. It was fun to watch and to sit with friends and family to talk, laugh and to get out in the Spring weather.
Saturday we relaxed, caught up on chores and then a friend dropped over for a short visit that turned into cocktails and dinner. I love those impromptu dates, don’t you? The ones where you sit chatting and hours later you don’t know where the time went?
The weather this weekend was a mixed bag, a little sun, then gray foggy mornings and Sunday tornado warnings and what felt like monsoon rains. I guess the good news is that the rain washed some of the pollen away.
My mom who is in the Midwest got snow, what about you? What did you do and is your weather as wacky as ours has been these last few weeks?
Next up 5 Things!
1. Read~The Secret Ingredient

It’s been three years, two weeks and one day since Kate Shaw’s life changed forever. Three years, two weeks and one day that Kate has been angry – with herself and life.
But today is different. Different because Kate has finally taken the step she’s been avoiding…back into the kitchen. Now, what begins as a (disastrous) attempt to make pancakes becomes a culinary journey that is not only a love letter to someone so important to her, but also an unexpected means of connection to a community she never knew she had…

4. SHOPPING BREAK~OUTFIT OF THE DAY

Eyelet is one of my favorite “patterns” for Spring and Summer, there are pants, shorts, blouses, skirts and dresses to add to your wardrobe. You will wear the pieces year after year and year.
I bought this dress a few weeks ago and love it, in fact I love it so much I bought it in black too. It is a shirtdress and looks beautiful dressed up and down. The only thing I did not like was the belt, which I switched for one that I like.
I paired it with a wicker bag and flats that have a cute flower detail, again both of these accessories you will wear again and again over this season and next. Or perhaps you already have something similar in your closet?

On My Radar

Hi Elizabeth,
The glow golf sounds like fun to watch. It’s nice you gathered with family to enjoy that.
Nice your friend came over for a visit then stayed for dinner.
To answer your question, our weather had been all over the place. That can happen in March. Last week we had rain, we really needed it. Our roses were thrilled, as a result I think they grew some too from all the rain. Our garden lived the rain. Today it’s supposed to be 76 degrees in our community. The mornings for me are chilly. That is when I reach for my sweatshirts, and my Lululemons keep me warmer. They are my living faves.
I loved Angela’s Ashes by Frank Mc Court. He recorded it as well and it is even better in his voice. He tells his sad story with wit and humor. So very Irish.
I highly recommend it.
Cristi,
I too loved Angela’s Ashes and thought it deserved to be shared today. It is great book. I have not heard the audio! I will have to get it.
Have a wonderful week and Happy St.Patrick’s Day!
