Good Saturday morning friends. It’s time for Weekend Meanderings with Kim and Juliet. Join us as we share all of the things that piqued our interests and caught our eye this week.

How was your Halloween? Did you get a lot of little kiddies in cute costumes looking for candy? I think that is the best part of Halloween, the kids are so happy, excited have the cutest costumes.

It’s November, I feel like I blinked July 4th and ended up in November. This time of year goes so fast. Make sure to slow down and enjoy the last 2 months of the year.

Don’t forget that tonight you need to change your clocks, we fall back one hour.

What are your plans for the weekend? I am going to a concert and a party. Aside from that I do not have too much on my schedule.

I have always loved the illustrations and whimsical art of Matthew Rice and when this video popped up in my feed this week I went down a rabbit hole of his home, garden, work, illustrations and more.

Home Tour~Ham Court

If you are a fan of Emma Bridgewater then you know Matthew Rice or at least you have seen some of his work. He is an artist, watercolorist, illustrator and former husband of Emma Bridgewater. This video is a tour of his incredible collected home called Ham Court. Should you find yourself in the neighborhood or exploring while in the UK you can tour the garden and attend workshops too.

Sketchbook in Venice

This video details all of the illustrations for Matthews’ book about Venice! If you love Venice or know someone that does this book would make a fabulous Christmas gift. I have been to Venice several times and I now have this book on my “wish list.”

Matthew. started this garden in 2013, here he grows vegetables and flowers and also uses the flowers for his illustration classes.

It’s sweater season, this year why not add a classic, cosy fair isle sweater to your wardrobe?

A Fair Isle sweater is a traditional sweater from the island of Fair Island, Scotland, they are know for their specific knitting technique where only two colors are used per row. The sweaters typically feature colorful patterns, flowers, motifs, etc. They are timeless and classic. Now days you can fins these cosy sweaters in most every color, style and price range.
