Snow on the golf course

Monday Musings No. 206

Good morning friends, how was your weekend? I finally got my winter wish, it snowed! It started on Saturday afternoon with a few flakes and continued all night long. We woke Sunday to an enchanting and magical winter wonderland.

As soon as I had my morning hot chocolate I jumped out of bed, donned my winter weather gear and set off on a long walk to take photos. I like to be the first person to make tracks in the snow but the deer beat me to it. It was so beautiful that I went back out in the afternoon to take more photos and to watch the neighborhood children sled down the golf course hills.

Were you affected by the storm? Are you off work or school today? Are you hoping the groundhog sees its shadow or doesn’t? I am a winter girl through and through so I hope that we have six more weeks of winter.

Ok, on to Monday Musings.

Read~Run For Your Life, Callie Kingman

Run For Your Life, Callie Kingman book cover.

A blindsided soon-to-be divorcée rediscovers herself in this witty, celebratory novel about a hard-fought comeback by the authors of The Better Half.

Two decades have passed since Callie Kingman begrudgingly followed her husband, Thomas, across the country in pursuit of his career at the expense of her own. Today, Callie is an empty nester with no job prospects, a declining mother, and a spouse who announces his intention to leave her—in Sacramento, the dullest city in America. His parting potshot: “It’s not me, it’s you.”

Taking to bed, Callie relies on delivery for food, her neighbor for booze, and her college best friend for commiseration. When an overdue annual exam leads to a health scare, Callie is forced to contend with her fractured and unfulfilled life by revisiting the vibrant, indomitable woman she used to be.

  1. I live in Florida, and we’ve actually had a winter this year! I would be very happy with 6 more weeks of colder than normal temperatures. I’m not a fan of hot weather, so this time of year is my reprieve from the heat. Your photos of the snow are beautiful! I don’t think I would do well living very far north, but it is lovely to see.

    1. Paula, I lived in Jacksonville and Atlantic Beach for many years and I would never get use to the weather. I am born and raised in the Midwest so I miss the seasons. NC is a great compromise, although the summer is brutal.
I hope that you have 6 more weeks of winter and moderate weather.
Take care and have a wonderful weekend.
