Weekend Meanderings
Good Saturday morning friends. It’s time for Weekend Meanderings with Kim and Juliet. Join us as we share all of the things that piqued our interests and caught our eye this week.
How are you this morning? Are you in the path of the storm? Do you have snow, ice, rain? Power? It’s been nerve wracking this week, no snow ahead, but plenty of rain and ice. I know people think Southerners exaggerate the weather but in all seriousness, we do not have the infrastructure for major weather events. They did brine the roads today but they can’t brine the trees and the power lines and if there is 1″ of ice on the lines we will have a serious mess. Not to mention large icy limbs breaking out of the trees.
Needless to say all plans are canceled(even church) and everything in town is closed on Sunday. Stay safe, I am praying for use all.
Ok, let get to weekend meanderings, a little distraction from the weather and life.

Hello Elizabeth,
Thank you for your post, do keep safe this weekend with the weather! The best thing this weekend was taking time away deliberately from “things I can’t control” with the news cycle and watched Shetland on Britbox. it has been a week…that and my lovely husband bought me a necklace for my birthday! Hope you have a easy week after the storm.
ooooohhhhh braised short ribs and valentine fudgey brownies are just what we need to get us through the storm! We are supposed to get up to two feet!
Thanks for sharing that beautiful song.
Hope you & your family have a good relaxing weekend.
Elizabeth! Dolly Parton is a treasure. Just seeing her name makes me feel good. You always find the most interesting videos, movies, etc. As usual I plan to settle into the sofa this afternoon to enjoy. Sorry to hear of your altered plans, ice is no joke. I’ve been keeping an eye on the storm’s progress, I know you’re little ones must hate going outside in those conditions. Be safe, friend. xo
Those brownies!!! Killing me. They would be fun to make with my granddaughter next week.
They are scrumptious Mary Ann! Have a safe trip and a wonderful time with your granddaughter!
Great post Elizabeth, I always love sitting down to all these videos. I think the brownies I have to try! They look delicious. I will share them on next week’s post. I love the Dolly is donating a million dollars of that song to pediatric cancer research. It has been severely hampered by the pulling out of funding by this administration. Dolly always doing good.
I hope you are on the mend and the storms aren’t too awful. I feel like you guys have been through so much this year.
Take good care. xo
Hi Eliz
Love Dolly and her new version of the song! My husband would love those shortribs!!
