Friday Favorites~a weekly series where we share our favorite books, decor, fashion finds, recipes, podcasts, articles and more.

Good morning to you my friends! Happy December 1st! The last month of 2023. It is going to go by in a whirl so make sure to take time to slow down and enjoy the festivities.
Today it the first day of Advent, if you don’t have a calendar yet you can still get one and count down the days to Christmas.
We have a busy weekend ahead. The village tree lighting and a party tonight, tomorrow a Christmas pop-up and Sunday and Christmas concert.
What are your weekend plans? Parties? Baking? Whatever you do, enjoy!
I have lots to share today on Friday Favorites so let’s get to it.

FOOD~RECIPES TO TRY

Spaghetti Alfredo Casserole is an easy and cheesy comfort meal combining classic spaghetti and Alfredo into a casserole. This is a great option for busy nights.

Did you like chicken and rice meals? Me too! This chicken and rice with buttered onions is another one to add to your collection.

It’s soup season and this Tuscan Ribollita Soup(Healthy Vegetable Soup) look hearty, delicious and easy to make.

I love to make my own nut butters! Now I have this Chai-spiced nut butter to add to my next batch. This nut butter would also be a great addition to a holiday gift basket of homemade goodies!

BOOKS
Here are a few of the books on my Kindle and next to my bed.
Barbra Streisand is by any account a living legend, a woman who in a career spanning six decades has excelled in every area of entertainment. She is among the handful of EGOT winners (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony) and has one of the greatest and most recognizable voices in the history of popular music. She has been nominated for a Grammy 46 times, and with Yentl she became the first woman to write, produce, direct, and star in a major motion picture. In My Name Is Barbra, she tells her own story about her life and extraordinary career, from growing up in Brooklyn to her first star-making appearances in New York nightclubs to her breakout performance in Funny Girl on stage and winning the Oscar for that performance on film. Then came a long string of successes in every medium in the years that followed. The book is, like Barbra herself, frank, funny, opinionated, and charming. She recounts her early struggles to become an actress, eventually turning to singing to earn a living; the recording of some of her acclaimed albums; the years of effort involved in making Yentl; her direction of The Prince of Tides; her friendships with figures ranging from Marlon Brando to Madeleine Albright; her political advocacy; and the fulfillment she’s found in her marriage to James Brolin.
A December to Remember
Three bickering half sisters.
One unique antiques shop.
The coziest holiday season of their lives.
Wildly different half sisters Maggie, Simone, and Star have hardly seen one another since their sprightly summers at Rowan Thorp, their eccentric father Augustus’s home. Known for his bustling approach to the knick-knack shop he ran, Augustus was loved by all and known by none, not even his daughters.
Now, years later, the three estranged women are called upon for the reading of Augustus’s will and quickly realize he’s orchestrated a series of hoops through which they must jump to unlock their inheritance—the last thing any of them want to do. But Maggie and Star desperately need the money. And who would Simone be to resist?
Through hilarious goose chases, small-town mishaps, and one heart-warming winter solstice celebration, love, hope, and reconcilation is in the air, if only the three sisters can let themselves grasp it.
Two people. Ten chances. One unforgettable love story.
Laurie is pretty sure love at first sight doesn’t exist anywhere but the movies. But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there’s a moment of pure magic . . . and then her bus drives away.
Certain they’re fated to find each other again, Laurie spends a year scanning every bus stop and cafe in London for him. But she doesn’t find him, not when it matters anyway. Instead they “reunite” at a Christmas party, when her best friend, Sarah, giddily introduces her new boyfriend to Laurie. It’s Jack, the man from the bus. It would be.
What follows for Laurie, Sarah, and Jack is ten years of friendship, heartbreak, missed opportunities, roads not taken, and destinies reconsidered. One Day in December is a joyous, heartwarming, and immensely moving love story to escape into and a reminder that fate takes inexplicable turns along the route to happiness.

Your site is once again so hard to enjoy due to the return of the black rectangle that will not close even after hitting the X many times. Frustrating.
Martha, my apologies. I have not idea why you are having a problem. I have checked with the ad network and the ad should close if you hit the x.
