Monday Musings No. 186
Good Monday morning friends, and Happy Labor Day! I hope that you have a restful and relaxing day off.
I wanted to clarify something that I wrote on Weekend Meanderings, I was not insulting or “dissing” Taylor Swift. She is an amazing woman, I listen to and enjoy her music.
My comment was referring to the over the top fanaticism and obsession of some people when it comes to Taylor Swift. We all enjoy and admire people, artists, entertainers, singers, etc, but to me some of the behavior goes beyond admiration. That is what I was referring to when I said I didn’t get it.
Tell me, how was your weekend? Ours was a lot of fun and a great ending to a wonderful summer. Friday night cocktails with friends. Then Saturday, “barbecue reimagined” which was an event where chefs put their bbq spin on different courses. There was everything from bbq pork mousse to the one of the most interesting cheesecakes I have ever eater. It was a lemon cheesecake topped with blueberries, corn and candied bbq bacon.
Sunday we went to church, then to the Pinehurst bbq festival, a few hours at the pool and then out with friends.
The weather was beautiful all weekend, a nice change from the heat of the last couple of months. In the morning it was cool, perfect for an early morning walk, and then sunny in the afternoons.
What about you? What did you do this weekend?
On to +5 Things!
1.Read~That Autumn in Edinburgh

Soon after, Fiona’s mercurial boss dispatches her to Edinburgh to create a Scottish Home Furnishings Collection, the chemistry deepens as she and Alex discover their ancestral bonds to the star-crossed lovers Thomas Fraser—the “Lost Lieutenant”—and Jane Maxwell, the flamboyant 4th Duchess of Gordon who died in 1812.
What if, these modern lovers wonder, their memories of a tragic, eighteenth century love triangle have been passed down 250 years, through their ancestors’ DNA?
From the cobbled streets of Edinburgh’s Royal Mile to the tartan and cashmere mills of the Scottish border country, Fiona and Alex grapple with the imminent threat of financial ruin to their respective firms, along with ancient wounds echoing down through time—and a heartbreaking mystery, hidden for more than two centuries, that will dictate their own destinies…

4. SHOPPING BREAK~Fall Plaid

There is a plaid for every season. Typically in the Fall you will find more muted and classic tones but this pink and green plaid coat from Boden is bright and fresh and anything but typical. It is perfect with sweaters and blouses or t-shirts. I paired it with classic blue pants, and loafers and a fuchsia cashmere sweater.

On My Radar~Fall

I don’t get it either!! Good for you for saying so.
Thank you Nanci. As I said, I think Taylor is inspiring but I find the obsession with her a little frightening.
