The Telephone Box Library
High school teacher Lucy is taking a sabbatical. Escaping to a cute village in the English countryside, she’s got her trusty West Highland terrier and a perfect little cottage to live in while she researches the women who worked at nearby Bletchley Park during the war. There’s one problem: just across the street there’s an extremely handsome main in plaid and workboots with a twinkle in his eye.
Hassled single dad Sam builds tree houses for a living – not that it impresses his daughter any more. He’s always sworn he’s too busy for love, but when Lucy moves into the cottage opposite, he finds himself making excuses to call round and ask for her advice as an expert on teenagers.
Meanwhile there’s a whole cast of endearing characters who seem determined to involve Lucy in small town life, from Bunty, her ninety-year old neighbour who has a secret from her past she’s kept to herself for years, and the village improvement society who somehow manage to pull Lucy into their plans to turn the disused red telephone box on the village green into a cute Little Free Library.

Florence Adler Swims Forever
Atlantic City, 1934. Every summer, Esther and Joseph Adler rent their house out to vacationers escaping to “America’s Playground” and move into the small apartment above their bakery. Despite the cramped quarters, this is the apartment where they raised their two daughters, Fannie and Florence, and it always feels like home.
Now Florence has returned from college, determined to spend the summer training to swim the English Channel, and Fannie, pregnant again after recently losing a baby, is on bedrest for the duration of her pregnancy. After Joseph insists they take in a mysterious young woman whom he recently helped emigrate from Nazi Germany, the apartment is bursting at the seams.
Esther only wants to keep her daughters close and safe but some matters are beyond her control: there’s Fannie’s risky pregnancy—not to mention her always-scheming husband, Isaac—and the fact that the handsome heir of a hotel notorious for its anti-Semitic policies, seems to be in love with Florence.
When tragedy strikes, Esther makes the shocking decision to hide the truth—at least until Fannie’s baby is born—and pulls the family into an elaborate web of secret-keeping and lies, bringing long-buried tensions to the surface that reveal how quickly the act of protecting those we love can turn into betrayal.

Bonjour Kale
The story of how one expat woman left her beloved behind when she moved to France―her beloved kale, that is. Unable to find le chou kale anywhere upon moving to the City of Light with her new husband, and despite not really speaking French, Kristen Beddard launched a crusade to single-handedly bring kale to the country of croissants and cheese. Infused with Kristen’s recipes and some from French chefs, big and small (including Michelin star chef Alain Passard) Bonjour Kale is a humorous, heartfelt memoir of how Kristen, kale, and France collide.

Raised by her mother and grandmother and tutored in the healing wonders of spices, Tulsi Gupta is expected to carry on the ancestral tradition from her family’s Salem spice shop. Restless and reluctant, Tulsi yearns to follow her own path—destiny has other plans.
When Tulsi finds a letter written by her grandmother, addressed and never sent, that speaks of a long-ago betrayal, she decides to unravel the mystery as a distraction. But Tulsi stumbles into much more than she bargained for. With each new discovery, she learns there’s much more to her mother and grandmother than their expertise in the remedial aromas of coriander and cloves. When an attractive neighbor begins renovating the shuttered deli next door, Tulsi finds the courage to break her routine and chase the unexpected.

OUTFIT OF THE DAY
Bright sunny summer days have me adding pops of color to my wardrobe. I love a colorful print dress and this linen blend dress with lemons is one of my favorites this season. A straw tote or market bag goes with everything, and can hold all of your essentials: books, water, wallet, phone, as well as, anything you pick up while you are out. As for the sandals, the bright blue picks up the colors of the dress and would also work well with white linen shorts, dresses and shirts.
You can find all of my outfits on LTK so be sure to follow me in case you missed one.
