Friday Favorites~a weekly series where we share our favorite books, decor, fashion finds, recipes, podcasts, articles and more

Friday Favorites No. 666
Good morning friends! Happy Friday to you, are you having a good week? I am tired. My husband and I were talking about this last night, we have been on the run since Thanksgiving. Lots of Christmas fun and friends, concerts, parties, and of course buying, wrapping, baking, shipping, etc. We haven’t even gotten to the holiday yet and we are worn out.
The fireplace install has been rescheduled until after Christmas. There is too much going on and we were worried that if there was a problem the house would be in chaos. So tomorrow we will put the house back together and get ready for our family that arrives on Monday.
We have another busy weekend ahead but I have earmarked a few hours to relax, and regroup.
What about you? How is your week? Are you ready for Christmas? Are you slowing down and enjoy some of the holiday fun?
I have lots to share this week so let’s get to it.
FOOD
We have yet to finalize our Christmas menu but these are a few of the recipes that we are thinking of making.

If you are tired of turkey and want to skip the ham why not try a stuffed pork tenderloin?

Christmas Salad with kale shaved Brussels sprouts, bacon, pomegranate arils, nuts and more.

Yeast rolls are a must for a holiday dinner. We will be making these Easy Yeast Dinner Rolls.

Christmas Day calls for something special for breakfast. I will be making “the best” Cinnamon Rolls ever!

Along with these German Walnut Rolls.

Ten Christmases Without You
It’s Emmy Brewer’s tenth Christmas since she lost her mom, and without her, Emmy’s floundering. Her job is pointless, and she struggles to find direction and passion. So when her sister invites Emmy’s childhood crush and former neighbor, Charlie Russell, to their family Christmas, and he shows up, given her state, Emmy is anything but excited.
Their meeting sets off a string of events that bring them together once a year at Christmas. Through trying moments, laughter, and bad timing, Emmy must face her life’s choices and decide what she actually wants. Will it be Charlie? Or will he be the catalyst for something else entirely?

A Not So Quiet Christmas
She thinks she wants to spend Christmas alone. But she’s about to learn that two can make things really merry . . .
Antonia prefers a quiet Christmas. She’s happy to spend it on her own watching movies in her pyjamas.
Antonia’s friend Jules, on the other hand, loves a big Christmas celebration and plans on travelling to the Yorkshire Dales for a festive break. But when Jules breaks her leg, she persuades Antonia to take her place on the trip. After arriving, Antonia meets the handsome Oliver and as Christmas approaches, the attraction between Oliver and Antonia grows.
She could choose to return to the bustling city and spend it alone. Or she could unwrap the gift of romance and have a not so quiet Christmas . . .

Christmas at the Timberton Hotel arrives each year with a unique set of guests, some returning, some new. When this holiday brings a celebrity seeking reprieve, sisters who are distant yet closer to each other than they think, a widow approaching a new horizon, and an eclectic smattering of local townsfolk and visiting relatives, the season is certain to be eventful. Add in a hint of romance and there’s more than snow in the air around the small Montana town.
Elegant decor and exquisite cuisine from resident artist and chef, Mist, form a backdrop to much needed camaraderie, bringing strangers and friends together. When the last note of Christmas carols has faded away, the soft whisper of silver bells from the front door’s wreath will usher guests and townsfolk alike back into the world with hope for the coming year.

On My Radar

I think you’re smart to delay the fireplace work until after the holidays. Less stress if you’re already tired. The Magic Cookie Bars with the brownie base sounds like a good switch from the graham cracker crust I usually make. Will give those a try tomorrow. So relaxing to take a few moments to read some of the links. I’ll save the rest for later. Take care, pace yourself, and enjoy the upcoming festivities.
