Christmas desserts are some of my very favorite things to make for parties and to take to family and friends. Snowball cookies, chocolate almond dragees, and chocolate bark with sea salt are just a few of the things on my list this year.

I love sweet treats and whether I am hosting or attending I always make sure to have plenty of sweet treats for the guests.

Over the next few weeks many of us will be hosting, or attending holiday parties and an easy dessert that we can whip together is always a good thing.

Normally, I bake all of the cookies and candies I serve using a mix of family favorites and a few new recipes.

Lately though, I have received a few emails from people telling me they don’t bake, don’t know how to bake or don’t like to bake so I thought I would make a dessert that anyone can make.

I settled on a candy and cookie board, the best part is that it is no-bake and is as easy as gathering your favorite sweet treats and assembling them on a tray.

All of the treats on this board came from Lidl, Aldi, Walmart, Target, the Dollar Tree and my local market. You can find most of the candy and cookie in the seasonal aisle but you can also check out the bakery too, just in case you wanted to add decorated sugar cookies, mini cupcakes or even decorated brownies.

Ingredients

Cookies an assortment of cookies, including but not limited to:

Candy

Directions

Get a large tray or cutting board, and a few small bowls or paper liners.

Add the bowls to the tray and fill them with the smaller candy like the M&M’s, gum balls and red hots. This adds visual interest and contains the smaller items.

Next, add the larger cookies to the tray, like biscotti or the long wafer cookies. You may have to play around with this a little to get it to look the way that you like. You can also cluster the cookies together or line them along the edge of the tray.

Once you have the cookies on the tray add the candy. Sometimes I unwrap some of the candy and other times if it is foil wrapped I leave it. The foil adds color and design to the tray.

There is no right or wrong way to make this tray, get creative and it will look beautiful and taste delicious because it is made with all of your holiday favorites.

This tray can also be made with homemade treats and candy or a combination of homemade and purchased treats. However you choose to make it I am sure that your guests will love it.

  1. That is too beautiful to eat! Wow, that took quite an effort to make it so perfect I'd bet. But then you have that knack with food.

  2. Your photos are beautiful and this is the kind of thing you can have in the cupboard, ready to pull out if somebody comes over. And it looks so impressive!
Another thing I like at this moment when people might "drop by" is to have logs of sugar cookie dough in the freezer. It takes 2 minutes to cut it into rounds and bake, and there is nothing as cozy as smelling warm cookies!!! A little sugar sprinkled on top is enough decoration.

  3. What a great way to finish off a meal. I love the added Christmas touches but also love that any type of cookie and chocolate would work for this board. Thanks for sharing Elizabeth.

  4. Elizabeth – beautiful as usual. You make everything look so yummy and inviting. I’m on board with the theme of buy and plate for my board this year too. Happy Hopping with you!

    1. Thank you Regina. I think the great thing about this board, is that you can use what you have. If you have homemade cookies use them, love store-bought add those too. And we always have christmas candy, homemade and from the store. Have a wonderful weekend.

  5. Elizabeth … your board is so pretty and festive. Makes me wish my holiday to-do’s were done and I could sit back with a holiday movie and dive into all these goodies. So much fun! xo
