Louise Condon ceramic botanist, Trovelore brooches, Tahilla Farm and so much more on weekend meanderings.

Have you ever heard of a ceramic botanist? Or Trovelore? I hadn’t either until this week and today on weekend meandering with Kim and Juliet I am going to tell you all about them. Weekend meandering is our weekly series where we share all of the things that piqued our interest and caught our eye this week.
I know I am repeating myself but our weather has been so beautiful this spring! Last year at this time I was praying for Fall it was so hot and humid. In fact some nights we sleep with the window open, that is something we have not been able to do in June for too many years to count.
Of course many across the East Coast could not go outside much less open their windows because of the smoke from the Canadian wildfires. Honestly, if there isn’t a war raging, or a volcano erupting, or a hurricane there is a wildfire or something worse.
How was your week? Were you affected by the smoke?
I have lots to share this morning so grab a coffee, tea or chocolate(my favorite) and let’s get to it. When you are done reading the post pour yourself another cup and go visit Kim and Juliet!
The Ceramic Botanist~Louise Condon

Gardens and botanical illustrations are two of my favorite things, now I have another ceramic botany. I recently discovered artist, Louise Condon on Instagram and went down a rabbit hole learning more about her beautiful work.Louise is an artist that works with clay and wildflowers to preserve them in wall tiles, vases, and pitchers.
Some of the flowers she grows in her garden, some come from Cheshire area and some are given to her. All of her pieces are created in her garden studio. Her most recent works were displayed at the Chelsea Flower show and even caught the attention of Princess Kate.

She also creates bespoke pieces using flowers that you provide from your own garden or wedding bouquet. In fact she has made pieces using flowers picked a few days ago or ones from 15 years ago.
For more information on Louise Condon follow her on Instagram and to see more of her work check out her website.

Trovelore

Last year Kim came up with the hashtag #blingit for friends and followers to share their vintage brooches. I shared several as well as creative ways to wear them in this post. Many women mentioned that they did not own brooches so today I am sharing some unique, hand crafted brooches to add to your collection.
Women owned and based out of Delhi and Arizona, founders & sisters, Dhruti & Seema design, distribute and head Trovelore. The line of hand made brooches is produced in India with love and care and is sold world wide in museum shops and boutiques.
Trovelore is a nature inspired atelier, crafting a line of timeless & treasured jewelry. Featuring flora and fauna of this wonderful world, it’s brilliant colours, complex textures and delicate forms, our designs are a homage to the endless beauty that surrounds us.
Follow Trovelore on Instagram and their website. If you would like to see more handmade beaded and embroidered brooches there are some amazing shops on Etsy.
One to Follow~Tahilla Farm

Do you know Jeanne, formerly of Collage of Life and most recently of her new/old blog Thallia Farm? I “met” Jeanne when I first started my blog, in fact she was the first person to leave a comment on my blog. That was over 12 or 13 years ago. When I met Jeanne she was packing up her house in Australia headed to the UK. Then she was on to Vietnam and Hong Kong with stops to see family in NH and Australia. Jeanne lived the ex-pat life for over 30 years and raised 4 children.
Then 7 years ago, with the help from some blogging friends she set off to find the perfect place to retire in NH. She had 3 weeks to find a place for Peter and the family, and she found a gentleman’s farm called Tahilla. The farm is not only a beautiful family home and blog but a gathering place for workshops and events as well.
You can read more about Jeanne in her own words and follow along on the goings on at the farm on Instagram and on her blog. This month she challenged herself to write a post every day for 30 days. I think you will love the posts. Each one is like a chapter in a memoir, something that I have been saying and wishing she would write for years and years.

Coffee Lovers ~Dalgona Coffee

Are you a coffee lover? This coffee went viral during quarantine and is now making the rounds again on Tik Tok. Dalgona coffee goes by many names, frothy coffee, whipped coffee, magic coffee and more. If you like coffee than you will love this easy and amazing drink.
Instead of frothing the milk and poring the coffee over it you whip/froth the coffee and pour it over the milk. This is the recipe I use when I make it for my husband. Have you tried making Dalton coffee? If not you should!

Last but not least on Friday Favorites I shared several tuscan inspired recipes, a few beach reads, tons of interesting articles and this outfit. Blue and white is a classic combination anytime but looks particularly fresh and beautiful in the summer, in my opinion.

Lovely post, feels as if summer has arriived already. Many eye catching links to explore.
One ad detracts though, turns into a black rectangle lower right to scroll past. X it out doesn’t work well. Pops back again.
Elizabeth this is a jammed packed post with so much to dig into.
I’m going to pop over and visit Jeanne. She has lived a well traveled life.
Thank you for sharing!
Great post and I’m planning to get a few new tee shirts. But did you know your blog has so many ads and pop up commercials it’s very difficult to read? Very frustrating.
Elizabeth wow lots of lovely things here! First of all Louises ceramics are just gorgeous. Thank you for sharing her. What wonderful pieces to collect.
I like Jeanne’s posts and I didn’t know she did the 30 day thing. I’ll have to check it out. Your ice cream looks terrific and I will try to make it sometime this summer maybe for Fourth of July weekend.
I love the stripes and the cute white shorts!
So nice you’re getting good weather. I love sleeping with the windows open. Nothing better! I know I feel so bad for everybody with the bad air. We know how that is and it’s miserable.
Thank you for also mentioning the brooches. I will have to go on a deep dive with all this… Who knew we needed summer brooches.. but I’d love to get one
Hope you have a lovely weekend Elizabeth!
Good morning, Elizabeth! Sounds like delightful weather in the south and I’m glad you’re enjoying it. We’re complaining that it’s too cool, but soon we’ll say it’s too hot. So sad about the smoke drifting across the skies in the East … it’s dreadful. But on to happier things, like ceramic botanists! I learned something new and love Louise’ work. And I ordered the updated Emma story … can’t wait to curl up with it!!! Happy weekend! xo
Juliet, I could not agree with you more about the weather. I am not complaining one bit about the cooler spring/summer. It was TOO hot last year I feel like we went from winter to summer in a week
I love Louise, her ceramic art is so beautiful, you can even send her your wedding bouquet and she can make something!
I think you will enjoy the new Emma!
Have a wonderful weekend!
xo
Here the smoke was quite present.
Elizabeth, it’s so funny how we are all connected in some way…us original bloggers! I too met Jeanne way back when and I believe we connected over the fact that very early in her marriage they lived in New Canaan. Such a small world, isn’t it? We need a Tahilla gathering, don’t you think?
xo
Annie, I can think of so many original bloggers that would love to come to a Tahilla gathering! Jeanne is an amazing writer and I am hoping that she writes a memoir sometime soon!
Have a wonderful week Annie!
I YIYI! I am obsessed with the ceramic botanist! I am going to go down that rabbit hole for a few hours
Wendy, Louise Condon is an amazing artist. I think your garden would offer some find blooms to make your own tiles.
I love your posts, Elizabeth…they’re always full of such beauty and inspiration! Hope you’re enjoying a wonderful week!
Thank you Lynne! I appreciate that. I hope that you have a wonderful week.
Thank you for sharing the info about ceramic botany (did I get that right?) Wish I kept my wedding bouquet! I gave it to the couple married the longest in attendance at the reception. This post was packed with so many new things I need to check out!
Marie, I think it would be an interesting DIY to try. I am sure that my attempt would be lacking the skill and quality os Louise but I think it would be fun.
Have a wonderful week.
