Flowers are a popular gift for many special occasions. Make your flowers extra special by taking the time to find the perfect vase to hold them and maybe add a secret code as you pick out your flowers and their colors.

While you are searching for Mother’s Day make sure to pick up something extra, like a tray for taking cupcakes to a bbq this summer or an addition “vase” or two to use as hostess gifts.

You can buy flowers or a plant at most markets or garden centers. Keep in mind that the prices are raised during popular holidays. But if you want a one of a kind Mother’s Day floral arrangement why not head outside and forage?

Foraging for flowers is one of my favorite ways to make an arrangement. The other is the addition of fresh herbs from the grocery store. I like to use the herbs as the greenery in the bouquets.

If your mom is like my mom any gift is welcome on her special day. But a unique and special gift made or foraged may be appreciated even more.
