Monday Musings No. 188

Good morning friends! THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for all of your kind emails, and comments about Saturdays post. If you have been here for a while then you know that I do not share personal things or my opinions very often. I wrote that segment twice and deleted it. Then wrote it again and let it sit over night and in the end I decided that you, my friends and followers are kind and open minded, open for discussion and that in some way we are all mourning this week.

The weekend was beautiful, the weather sunny and mild, summer seems to be back for a few days at least. We really didn’t do too much. Saturday we took a long walk to the village, meandered around the farmers market and the book store. After dinner we watched a movie and then I went to bed early.

Sunday went to mass, took a long walk and then I baked and Bill watched football. Fall is the season to slow down, enjoy the games, making soups and stews and of course a few sweet treats. Speaking for which, Thursday Sheri and I will be back for our monthly series “Sweet Treats for your Sweet Tooth.”

Tell me about your weekend? What did you do? Whatever you did I hope you found some time to relax.

On to +5 Things!

1.Read~Recipe for Life

Recipe for Life.

A recipe for life should be a simple thing: love and happiness, family, friends and a little food. But life is rarely straightforward…

Alice wants to make the most of life – after all, she knows how fragile it can be – and knows she never feels more alive than when she’s cooking.
Babetta has spent a lifetime tending the garden of her tiny house on the Italian coast, supplying food to feed a family now grown and gone.

One summer these two women are brought together in a crumbling Mediterranean villa, with the shared language of food. There, under the heat of the Italian sun, or the shade of the pomegranate tree, secrets will be spoken, fears and hopes shared. But life’s lessons are not learnt easily.
