WEEKEND MEANDERINGS
Good Saturday morning to you friends. It’s time for Weekend Meanderings with Kim and Juliet! This is our weekly series where we share all of the things that piqued our interests and caught our eye.
America’s birthday is next week, Thursday to be exact and it is time to celebrate. Barbecues, road trips, time at the lake or the ocean, fireworks, food and of course some red, white and blue. Today on weekend meanderings I am sharing sweet treats, decor, tablescapes and a few outfits for the 4th of July.

Red, White & Blue Patriot Decor For Outside
Decorating your house for the 4th can be as simple as adding some mini flags to a vintage watering can, lining your walkway with flags or going all out and adding bunting the the windows and porch. Here are a few of my favorites.

Nora Murphy is so incredibly talented, her house is always turned out no matter the season. Here she has added a flag, and bunting to her house and it is ready for the party.

Bunting and swags coupled with a flag tuleperie are a festive way to decorate for America’s birthday and to welcome your guests.

Red, white and blue flowers and pillows are an easy way to decorate for the holiday and the look will work for the rest of the summer as well.

4th of July Tablescapes

Flowers, transfer ware, everyday items from around your house and decorations from your local craft store can be mixed and matched to create a fun holiday table

Pam created a festive table in her stunning garden using an old Pottery Barn tablecloth, wood charges, red dinner plates and blue and white transfer-ware salad plates. Then she cut flowers from her garden for the centerpieces.

I love everything about this table, the blue paisley tablecloth paired with the stripe table runner. The blue wicker charges with a stack of vintage transfer ware and of course the flowers and the cones! I would love to go to a 4th of July party at Mary’s!

Ricki Jill combines new piece, vintage pieces, McKenzie Childs and denim to make a creative and festive table. I love the table runner and the napkin rings made from old jeans.
5 Fourth of July Desserts
Yes, I know many people celebrate the fourth with hot dogs and hamburgers, but you know me, I am all about the desserts. Here are a few easy desserts to add to your table that your family and friends will love.

The flag sheet cake is a staple at most celebrations but why not try this layer cake instead?

If you want something a little easier, try this scrumptious cake with buttercream frosting and fresh fruit.

I used the same recipe to make the cupcakes!

Don’t want to bake? Try this no-bake cheesecake with raspberry and blueberry swirls.

Or this no-churn red, white and blue ice cream. It only has 3 ingredients, is easy to make and delicious.

If you have leftover ice cream cones or melting wafers why not make these favors filled with M&M’s Tootsie Rolls and Hershey’s Kisses.

Last but not least, how cute are these red, white and blue s’mores that Sheri made?
Don’t forget to bookmark these desserts to make while we cheer on Team USA next month at the Olympics!
Patriotic Outfits for the 4th and all Summer Long
What are your plans for the 4th? Heading to a bbq or a parade? A pool party? Or just having out enjoying the day? Whatever your plans one of these outfits will fit the bill.

Blue and white is classic, not just for the 4th but all summer long. Blue shorts, a white t-shirt, blue and white sweater with sneakers and you are set for the morning parade and the fireworks.

A blue and white strip dress, navy sandals, a tote to carry your things and a pair of patriotic earrings!

I love this linen tunic! You can wear it over your swimsuit to the beach or the pool.

Oh Elizabeth! All these beautiful images of houses draped in flags, banners and bunting, plus the red, white and blue tablescapes and desserts leave me wanting to pull together a last minute 4th of July party! I probably won’t, but I’m going to daydream about it all day. I think I pinned every image in your post. I’m so ready for the fireworks to begin. Loved reading the interesting facts about Independence Day, I’ve always found it fascinating that Thomas Jefferson and John Adams died on the very same day. I wasn’t aware that James Monroe passed on the same day a few years later. Wow. Well, Happy 4th week … hope you enjoy it all! xo

Nora Murphy is a favorite. I love her books. The one fact you shared that I didn’t know was about the Liberty Bell ringing.
