MONDAY MUSINGS

Good morning friends, it’s Labor Day. I am not sure if they say Happy Labor Day so I will just say happy day off, if you are lucky enough to have the day off.

It was a hot, busy, fun weekend. We went to several of the Pinehurst Barbecue festival events and I think I can say that I have had enough barbecue for this summer. Bring on the chili, French onion soup and all things pumpkin.

Aside from that we took long walks, had drinks with friends, and enjoyed cool morning coffee and chocolate in the porch.

The weather is perfect in the morning, a little cool, low humidity. I’ll take it. Fall baking and decor is on my mind. To be honest, I don’t decorate that much, a few baby boo pumpkins, lots of candles and pf course pinecones and acorns. Now baking, that is another thing. Once it is cool enough to have to stove on all weekend I experiment with all sorts of things.

Today we are having lunch with friends and then it’s back to work. What about you? How was your weekend? Tell me about your weekend, what did you do for fun? What do you have planned for the last summer holiday? Did you find anything at the sales I should buy?

Next up +5 things.

The Door to Door Bookstore

The charming international bestseller about an unlikely friendship between an elderly door-to-door bookseller and a nine-year-old girl that changes his life.

Small-town German bookseller Carl Kollhoff delivers his books to special customers in the evening hours after closing time, walking through the picturesque alleys of the city. These people are almost like friends to him, and he is their most important connection to the world.

When Kollhoff unexpectedly loses his job, it takes the power of books and a nine-year-old girl to make them all find the courage to rebuild their bonds with each other.

  1. Wow, a reader could stick her finger anywhere in this blog post and pull out a plum! I’ve spent almost an hour here and watched the YouTube channel and the Meg Ryan trailer, and jotted down a page of notes full of ideas to follow up on. Thank you for all the fall richness! Oh, and I’m binging McLeod’s Daughters and reading Man in the Gray Flannel Suit because I love the movie and the book does not disappoint. But I think it may be time to return to Gilmore Girls once again. Happy September to you!
