Why You Will Love Whipped Yogurt Cream with Summer Berries
- It’s light and refreshing. The combination of yogurt whipped cream topped with summer berries creates a light dessert that is perfect for warmer days when you don’t want to turn on the oven.
- You can use whatever berries are in season or your personal favorites, and the yogurt whipped cream can be customized to your sweetness and flavor. Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries are delicious with this dish.
- By using yogurt instead of just traditional whipped cream, this recipe offers a tangy twist and a healthier dessert option.

What You Need to Make Whipped Yogurt Cream
- 1 1/2 cups of cold, plain Full Fat Greek Yogurt
- 1/2 cup cold heavy whipping cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 Tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- pinch of salt
- 1 cup Mixed Berries
How to Make Whipped Yogurt Cream
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment whip the heavy cream, plain yogurt, vanilla extract, honey and pinch of salt on medium speed until stiff peaks form. You can also add all of the ingredients to a large bowl and use an electric hand mixer.
- Then spoon into glasses or glass jars. Top with fresh berries. Then enjoy!
Tips
- Chill your mixing bowl and beaters before you start the recipe. This helps the cream whip up faster and hold its shape better.
- Use fresh ripe berries and plain Greek yogurt. Do not use regular yogurt.
- Sweeten gradually, add your sweetener a little at a time to the yogurt mixture while whipping, be sure to taste as you go. This way, you avoid over sweetening the yogurt cream.
- Serve immediately, this dessert is best enjoyed fresh. The whipped cream can lose its fluffiness over time and the berries may release more juice. I personally like it that way but you may not.
Recipe Variations
- Try different types of sweeteners, honey, golden syrup, powdered sugar, vanilla sugar, maple syrup, etc.
- Mix a bit of lemon or orange zest into the whipped cream for a citrus twist.
- A sprinkle of fresh mint or basil.
- Use coconut yogurt for a dairy-free twist.
- Drizzle with chocolate or honey or a berry coulis.
- Top with toasted almonds, pecans, or pistachios.
- Swap vanilla bean paste for the vanilla extract for a more intense vanilla flavor.
- A pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg sprinkled into the whipped cream can add a cozy twist, perfect for cooler months.
- Add a splash of berry liqueur.
- Do not use cool whip in place of heavy cream.

What To Serve With Whipped Yogurt Whipped Cream and Berries
- Almond biscotti pairs well with the creamy texture and fresh berries.
- For a breakfast twist or extra crunch, sprinkle your favorite granola on top.
- A few mint leaves scattered on top add color.
- Serve the berries and yogurt cream alongside a slice of pound cake for a more substantial dessert.
- For a breakfast sever with French toast.
How to Store Leftovers
Store any leftover berries with yogurt whipped cream in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Stir gently before serving, but expect some loss of fluffiness in the cream.
It’s best not to freeze the whipped yogurt cream but you can freeze plain berries separately and thaw them before serving.
Ways to Use Leftovers
- Make a Breakfast Parfait, layer leftover berries and yogurt whipped cream with granola and fresh fruit for a quick, delicious parfait.
- Smoothie, blend leftover berries and cream into your morning smoothie for a rich creamy treat.
- Pancake or Waffle Topping, use the mixture as a creamy, fruity topping over pancakes or waffles instead of syrup.
- Dessert Dip, serve the leftover whipped yogurt as a dip for cookies or fruit slices.
