10 Delicious Pancakes to Celebrate National Pancake Day

Good morning to you and a happy National Pancake day to you. Pancake day also known as Shrove Tuesday, Mardi Gras, and Fat Tuesday, is the last day for Christians to indulge in fatty foods before the start of Lent(Ash Wednesday).

In my family we celebrated Shrove Tuesday with pancakes and jelly filled Paczki donuts. I prefer pancakes with lots of  maple syrup to jelly donuts and after you see the 10 pancakes that I found for you I think you will too, this is a list that has something for everyone.

Chocolate Pancakes are perfect for dinner or dessert.

  1. Pancake Day is always celebrated here but, not in our house ! I’m not a lover of pancakes ! We had them as children just with lemon and sugar but I wasn’t that much of a fan ….. my sister loved them. XXXX

  2. I love pancakes, but somehow never seem to eat them. I will have to try some of these! I remember I had this long heated appliance when my girls were young that I could make a bunch of pancakes on at a time.

  3. OMG – these pix of the pancakes is going to kill any thoughts of a healthy eating plan today!

As Jackie mentions above, Pancake Day in England when growing up (she and I are about the same age and have a lot in common from our childhood days), was always traditional crepes, usually served rolled with a sprinkle of fine castor sugar and fresh lemon juice. . . . . .and I LOVED them! I still do and usually make a batch on this day – so maybe they will be dessert tonight — with just a salad!!!!
