Good morning! I hope that your week is going well, if it is not going according to your plans the good news is that tomorrow is Friday!
Farmhouse from Little White House Blog |
The weather here has been brutal, 95, 97, and 93 so far, this week, add in the 100% humidity and it feels a lot hotter. Needless to say my mind is at the beach, in the sun and on bbq’s, not candy corns and trick or treat.

That said as I was perusing Pinterest the other day I fell in love with this pin and consequently the blog it came from Farmhouse 5540.
I personally love a beautiful farmhouse, in my imagination I see a 2 story white clapboard house in the middle of a few acres with a little orchard off to one side. I image the house having a wrap around porch on the first floor and off onside of the second floor another porch for sleeping on hot summer days.

I imagine a beautiful, but hardworking kitchen with a dark blue Aga stove, white ironstone pitchers filled with wooden spoons, and a freshly baked cake on a cake stand handed down from one generation to the next.

Just across from the open kitchen is a keeping room with two comfy chairs set in front of a roaring fire and a small table to the side of each to hold steaming mugs of hot cocoa and books while watching mom prepare dinner.

I personally love farmhouse details and have a lot in my own kitchen, the collected spoons in pitchers, vintage mortar and pestles, dough bowls and cutting boards that tell a story each time you use them, if you stop to listen.

I love the copper plated basket set. Wouldn't they be pretty on open shelving in a pantry!

Oh, a screened-in sleeping porch would be heaven.
One of our vacation rentals has an enormous kitchen. I love it more than my own. Marble fireplace big enough to stand in. Big old table in the center, for extra workspace and also because the kitchen is the heart of the home, and there should be a place for loved ones to join the cook, whether to help or to simply keep company.

I love a farmhouse. I prefer a European style such as French, English or Scandinavian, but an American farmhouse as such will do!
