Regency romance, Julia Quinn and Bridgerton fans will love the new collaboration at Williams Sonoma. The Bridgerton Collection, released just before Christmas includes food, chocolates, honey, cakes, cookies, drinks, and tableware and a cookbook to name just a few of the items.
The Bridgertons are the wildly popular romance novels written over 20 years ago that were recently brought to the small screen by Shonda Rimes. I read these books when they first came out all those years ago. Admittedly, I have not watched the series yet. Have you?
Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres to read. What can I say, I love history, the country houses, fashion, the “season”, presentation at court, all of the little details of life. What they ate, what they learned, how they traveled and of course the history of their time. Although I like to imagine living in one of those beautiful country houses or castles I am well aware there there was no electricity, indoor plumbing or heat and that although life looked gilded it was difficult for many people, especially women.
Ok, back to the Bridgerton collection where we can recreate a tiny snippet of Regency England in the comfort and luxury of our own home.
What is in the Williams Sonoma Bridgerton Collection?

What is Bridgerton?
Bridgerton is the hit Netflix show written by Shonda Rhimes of Grey’s Anatomy fame. The show is based up the Bridgerton Regency romance novels written by Julia Quinn and revolves around two families, the Bridgertons and the Featheringtons. It also features Lady Whistledown, who writes a newsletter of all of the scandals, entertainment, engagements, and on dit going on during “the season”. Were the Bridgerton books written before the Netflix show?
Yes, the first Bridgerton book was published in 2000 and the last in 2013. The Netflix series began December 2020.
Who is Julie Quinn?
Julie Quinn is the pen name of Julia Pottinger. She is a best-selling American author of historical romance fiction. Ms. Quinn is one of only sixteen members of Romance Writers of America’s Hall of Fame, her books have been translated into 41 languages.
