Kinross House, Love & Lemons, Spring Updates and more on Weekend Meanderings.
Good Saturday morning friends, how are you?
Today I am joining Kim and Juliet for weekend meanderings, our weekly series of things that caught our eye and piqued our interest.
Tonight we spring ahead for daylight savings, and loose an hour of sleep but gain an hour of daylight. If Senator Marco Rubio has his way, it may be for the last time.
What do you think? Are you a fan of changing the clocks or do you think it is an antiquated idea? Did you know that Daylight saving time used to run from April to October? In 2005 it was extended four weeks from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November? I didn’t.
It’s been another crazy week for weather. I feel like that is “the” topic of conversation with friends and family across the country this month. One day it is cold, then it’s hot, then it’s raining, then snowing. March is a bit of a challenge, it is on the cusp of spring and there are days that we are teased into believing it is Spring only to find the next day that winter is back with a vengeance.
Perhaps that is Mother Nature telling us to be in the now and to savor each day and not wish away the days for something better. Spring will be here before we know it and then the hot humid days of summer will arrive and have me wishing for these cool, crazy days.
Ok, enough of my droning, on to weekend meanderings.
WEEKEND MEANDERINGS
Love & Lemons
Are you a fan of Jeanines’ blog Love & Lemons? ME too. I have been following and making the recipes for years. Some of my favorites include veggie pizza, homemade brownies, broccoli salad and buffalo cauliflower tacos.
If you don’t know the blog or the cookbooks they are filled with easy and delicious vegetarian recipes. There is something for everyone, even if you are not a vegetarian I promise you will find something to enjoy.
I bought Jeanines’ first cookbook in 2016, and the second in 2019. Yesterday I pre-ordered the latest cookbook which will be released in April and is already a #1 New Release on Amazon!
Here’s a cool thing, for $35.00 you get a signed copy of the book and a Zoom like to cook virtually with Jeanine! Click here for all the details.
Do you have a favorite Love & Lemon recipe?
Kinross House

It’s no secret that I LOVE Scotland. The first time I stepped off the plane I felt like I was home, that might sound strange but it is true. My dream for years was to move there when we retired and live in a cottage by a loch. Life had other plans.
Luckily I have visited several times and hopefully we be headed back there next year. In the meantime I enjoy “visiting” my favorite country via Instagram. This week I stopped mid scroll when I saw Kinross House.
This stunning estate looks like it came out of a romantic novel. The house is beautifully decorated and the grounds are immaculately kept and surrounded by over 100 acres of land overlooking a loch. There is even a private island!
You can rent the entire house for private events like weddings and such. If that is not in your budget, and it is not in mine, you can visit the Coach/House and Spa and spend the day being pampered. Then when you are finished, stay for afternoon tea or in the winter a cup of hot chocolate and a mince pie!

Make sure to visit the website to see the beautiful movie, and photos of the gardens and the house, it is stunning. The Head Gardener has a blog, although it is not up to date the older posts are stunning.

WEEKEND FINDS
Have you been shopping at JCrew lately? I have been perusing their new items for spring and have a few things in my cart. I love this shirt in every color, this green sweater, and this hat.
Terrian has some beautiful things for Spring. This wildflower wreath reminds me of the one Juliet has on her front door. Colorful glasses are perfect for a pop of color on your Spring, summer and holiday table. These melamine plates are one of my favorites.
As I mentioned before I am trying to be very selective about the things I am adding to my closet and home. I don’t just want more stuff so for now I haven’t ordered anything. I am window shopping.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
On Monday Musings I shared a great movie I think you will enjoy! It’s called LOVE SARAH.It’s about a young woman who wants to fulfill her mother’s wishes for opening a bakery in Notting Hill. I also shared some spring finds a great books and lots more.

And yesterday on Friday Favorites I shared this beautiful Spring outfit, 3 books suggestions, some delicious recipes and lots of interesting links you may have missed this week.

Happy Weekend, Elizabeth! Starting from the bottom, Love Sarah looks enchanting and I’m tempted to watch it tonight. Thank you so much for mention our spring refresh post … you’re always so generous. I’m packing my bags to move to Kinross House. Nothing like a Scottish manor home to get my imagination going. Can you imagine attending a wedding or other special event there. Magic. I’ve always admired Love and Lemons and her cookbooks are so beautiful. That pizza looks amazing. I don’t know how I feel about the time change. I remember when it was extended and I didn’t like that … trying to figure out how to change my range and microwave clocks usually takes weeks! 😉 xo
I hate daylight saving time. It should be standard time only.
Elizabeth, Sorry I am so late to read your great post! I love Scotland too and can’t wait to do a deep dive on Kinross House. I think you need a day to spa there when you visit. I didn’t know about this new cookbook. I use the hummus recipe from Love & Lemons all the time and it’s very good.
The weather still stinks here and we are getting 100 inches this week now more snow in Tahoe.. That is not a typo. We are trying to see if we can have our cabin dug out. It’s buried and we can’t get there..
I was lucky to get to Palm Spring for 3 days and had some sun at a tennis tournament, but I’m missing it already.
Love to make your Kringle sometime! I am watching my sugar now, but maybe for Easter?
Have a beautiful week. xo
Kim, I cannot believe your little cabin! 100 more inches on top of what you already have!!! Your trip to PS looked like a lot of fun. It is always nice to have a girls weekend away! I am sure you will see the sun again soon! In the meantime take care!
xo Elizabeth
Elizabeth,
First, thank you so much for the shoutout on spring refresh! So kind of you!
I can see how you love Scotland. I have never been, but it looks so beautiful. There’s a couple of movies that take place in Scotland that I watch again and again…just for the scenery!
That movie Love Sarah looks so cute! You find the best things!
xo
annie
Annie you must share your favorite Scottish movies! I am sure that there are many here who would love to watch them as well.
I hope you have a wonderful week!
I’m no farmer and I don’t personally know any so I don’t know how much changing the clocks helps or hinders the farmers. Living in HI has been great to not change the clocks (Az doesn’t either). I fell heed over heels in love with Muckross house gardens in Killareney, Ireland when I visited in 2003.
Thanks for all the great links to read.
It is fascinating to see these beautiful houses all over the UK, wether they are ruins or have been redone. I cannot wait to check out Muckross house. Thank you for sharing!
Have a wonderful week.
I have never been to Scotland…pinning your cool find. Also, love your outfit …off to explore the links.
