MONDAY MUSINGS NO. 114

Good morning friends, how was your weekend? Did you enjoy your St.Patricks day celebrations? Or did you skip celebrating?

Saturday we met family in the village for breakfast and a little of the St.Patrick’s day parade. Then we headed off to do a errands, take a nice long walk and finish a few projects. The weather was beautiful but the pollen is horrible. Everything is covered in green dust and my eyes itch and ears are throbbing. I know I am not the only one suffering from seasonal allergies so hopefully soon we will all feel better. If you have any tips for relief please share.

St.Patrick’s day was another beautiful sunny day. We spent time in the yard trimming some of the bushes, and starting a few seeds. Once the weather gets a little warmer I will be ready to plant my containers. We have a freeze warning this week so hopefully everything will survive, especially my peonies that are already poking out of the ground. Aside from that we took a walk at the lake, visited with some friends and the wound down the weekend with dinner at the club.

How was your weekend? What did you do? How is your weather?

Next up +5 things.

+5 THINGS

1.READ~The School of Essential Ingredients

This is an old book but a good one. I read this years ago and found it in my bookcase a few days ago so I though I would reread it.

The School of Essential Ingredients book cover.
Once a month on a Monday night, eight students gather in Lillian’s restaurant for a cooking class. Among them is Claire, a young woman coming to terms with her new identity as a mother; Tom, a lawyer whose life has been overturned by loss; Antonia, an Italian kitchen designer adapting to life in America; and Carl and Helen, a long-married couple whose union contains surprises the rest of the class would never suspect.

The students have come to learn the art behind Lillian’s soulful dishes, but it soon becomes clear that each seeks a recipe for something beyond the kitchen. And soon they are transformed by the aromas, flavors, and textures of what they create….
