Good morning friends, if you though my mummy Rice Krispie treats were an easy Halloween treat just wait until you make these chocolate covered Halloween pretzels.

Chocolate Covered Halloween Pretzels

Chocolate halloween pretzels are as easy as melting your favorite chocolate, dipping or spooning the chocolate over them and then decorating with sprinkles or candy.

Of course you can get more creative by making little mummies and adding eyes or making witches fingers by using green chocolate and an almond for the finger nail.

I had every intention of adding the little eyes and the candy corns but I decided to keep it simple and just used the sprinkles and sugar. But you can add or subtract whatever you like. Get creative!

Treat Bags

They are fun and easy for kids to make along with you and are a family favorite. Whenever I make these for parties they are one of the first things to go from the dessert table.

Chocolate covered halloween pretzels also make great treat bags. I purchased cellophane bags from The Dollar Tree and filled each bag, then tied with decorative twine.

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 2 minutes
Servings: 14 servings
Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American

Equipment

  • 12-15 salted pretzel rods
  • 10 oz. candy melts black
  • 10 oz orange candy melts
  • colored sugar
  • holiday sprinkles

Method

  1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pour orange melting  wafers into a microwave safe bowl and follow the directions on the package to melt them. Be careful not to burn the wafers. If the melting wafer mixture is too thick you can add a little vegetable oil.
  3. Spoon, drizzle or dunk the pretzels into the chocolate, then set on the parchment paper.
  4. Once you are finished with the orange pretzels, melt the black melting wafers and spoon or drizzle over the pretzels.
  5. While the pretzels are still wet decorate with colored sugar, candy or sprinkles.
Or drizzle the orange chocolate over the black and vice versa.
  6. TIP: To speed up the hardening process, place pretzels in the refrigerator about 10 minutes.
