Friday Favorites No. 665
Good morning friends, how was your week? Mine has been busy and I feel as if this month is going by on warp speed. Thank goodness that sales are over because my inbox has not recovered from the hundreds and hundreds of emails I received on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Speaking of which, what did you buy if you shopped? Were you happy with the sales? For the most part I liked the things I purchased but I do have a few returns.
Are you finished Christmas shopping? Decorating the tree? What are you doing for fun?
Make sure to tick one or two things off your Christmas bucket list this weekend. I will be doing the same. We are going to a tree lighting tonight, and a concert Sunday. In between I have the Christmas tunes on nonstop and a few movies lined up for Saturday.
Ok, on to Friday Favorites!

A Christmas Cornucopia
For something that happens every year of our lives, we really don’t know much about Christmas. We don’t know that the date we celebrate was chosen by a madman, or that Christmas, etymologically speaking, means “Go away, Christ.” Nor do we know that Christmas was first celebrated in 243 AD on March 28—and only moved to December 25 in 354 AD. We’re oblivious to the fact that the advent calendar was actually invented by a Munich housewife to stop her children pestering her for a Christmas countdown. And we would never have guessed that the invention of Christmas crackers was merely a way of popularizing sweet wrappers. Luckily, Mark Forsyth is here to unwrap this fundamentally funny gallimaufry of traditions and oddities, making it all finally make sense—in his wonderfully entertaining wordy way.

Christmas At the Little Paris Hotel
When Anais receives a near-derelict Paris hotel in her divorce settlement, her first thought is to tidy it up and sell it immediately. All she wants is to move on and forget her disaster of a marriage ever happened.
But selling it proves impossible, so she has only one option: to make it gorgeous and open by Christmas… when her funds will almost certainly run out.
She’s not counting on the grumpy American bar-owner next door, Noah, coming and interfering at every moment though. Nor is she expecting to find a mysterious room – which holds the key to a one-hundred-year-old secret – about a woman who chose love against the odds.
One thing’s for sure… as the fairy lights twinkle all over the city of lights and the first snowflakes start to fall… this will be a Christmas in Paris to remember.

The Christmas Holiday
Krystle didn’t have a normal childhood and longed for warm family Christmases with presents under the tree. Now she makes sure everyone else has the perfect Christmas she never had, bringing beautiful decorations to cheer as many people as possible.
With her festive business booming, she decides to celebrate by renting a secluded house in the Lakes, with a plan to make this the ultimate yuletide getaway.
But fate immediately throws a spanner in the works in the form of a broken-down car, a flooded river and Max; a man who despises Christmas.
Krystle becomes determined to show Max the joys of the holiday. She won’t take no for an answer.
Can she melt Max’s Grinch-like heart? And can he show her that life doesn’t need to go to plan to take you somewhere magical…

Shopping~Outfit of the Day

Cosy doesn’t have to mean yoga pants and a hoodie. A pair of jeans or pants, comfy sweater, and boots(if leaving the house) are all you need to be cosy and stylish. Add a bag, coat and mittens and a spritz of your favorite perfume and you are off for a winter day of errands.
