A weekend update, The Homecoming, Mar Jennings’ gorgeous Connecticut home, Fall finds and more.

It’s Monday! How was your weekend? Ours was hot and quiet. There was a little fun, a little work and a little down time.
Friday and Saturday we worked on the floors, as I mentioned last week it is our first major diy. One room is finished, the floors are down and the shoe molding is installed. The second room is 3/4 finished and still needs the molding. Hopefully that will be finished today, then everything can be put back where it belongs.
Saturday night we had dinner and drinks with friends in the village.
Then Sunday, a few hours at the pool. Soaking up some vitamin D and reading a book is the perfect end to the weekend. I am refreshed, rejuvenated and ready for a busy week ahead.
Tell me about your weekend, what did you do for fun?
Next up +5 things.
+5 THINGS
1.Read~The Homecoming
I LOVE Kate Morton. I started Homecoming on Friday and finished it Saturday afternoon.
Are you a Kate Morton fan? Which of her books is your favorite? I think mine is The Forgotten Garden.
Adelaide Hills, Christmas Eve, 1959: At the end of a scorching hot day, beside a creek on the grounds of a grand country house, a local man makes a terrible discovery. Police are called, and the small town of Tambilla becomes embroiled in one of the most baffling murder investigations in the history of South Australia.
Many years later and thousands of miles away, Jess is a journalist in search of a story. Having lived and worked in London for two decades, she now finds herself unemployed and struggling to make ends meet. A phone call out of nowhere summons her back to Sydney, where her beloved grandmother Nora, who raised Jess when her mother could not, has suffered a fall and is seriously ill in the hospital.
At Nora’s house, Jess discovers a true crime book chronicling a long-buried police case: the Turner Family Tragedy of 1959. It is only when Jess skims through its pages that she finds a shocking connection between her own family and this notorious event – a mystery that has never been satisfactorily resolved.
An epic story that spans generations, Homecoming asks what we would do for those we love, how we protect the lies we tell, and what it means to come home. Above all, it is an intricate and spellbinding novel from one of the finest writers working today.

5. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT~WEEKEND MEANDERINGS

This weekend I joined Kim and Juliet for our weekly series, weekend meanderings. I shared Gravetye Manor, William Robinson, Nora Murphy, Lost Forest Jewelry and More.
I think you will love Gravetye Manor, the house once owned by the “grandfather” of herbaceous borders and English gardens. As for the bespoke jewelry from Lost Forest, it is simply amazing. Hand made and hand grown in Ireland using flowers from Gillians garden.
THAT’S ALL FOR NOW
I hope that you enjoyed Monday Musings No. 86 and found something to read, watch or even add to your cart.
