Friday Favorites~a weekly series where we share our favorite books, decor, fashion finds, recipes, podcasts, articles and more.

Good morning friends, how was your week? It’s been cold and snowy for a lot of people this week. The good news is that there is warm weather coming, the meteorologists say that next week it will be between 8-14 degrees above normal. Time to thaw out and get ready for the rest of winter.
Here it wasn’t so bad, the coldest weather came overnight and then the sun warmed it up during the day. I think I only stayed inside one day. My favorite walks are in the crisp, cold air, I would prefer if it was snowing but I’ll take what I can get.
What are your plans for the weekend? Will you be cheering on your favorite team? Bill will be watching and cheering the KC Chiefs.
Ok, enough about the weather lets get to the comforting recipes, books and all of the rest of my favorite finds.

The Heirloom
What if your dreams were memories of another life?
Living in a medieval city on the west coast of Ireland, Amanda Morrison has always questioned her birth family’s past. When a long lost aunt bequeaths an unusual gift, it unlocks a doorway to the past and a timeless love story.
Xavier de la Cruz is a man sailing away from his problems and setting course for Ireland. There, he will find a woman he has never met, but knows by heart. With a cast of characters that will both warm the heart and challenge beliefs, The Heirloom is perfect for fans of Diana Gabaldon, Rachel Hore and Kate Morton.
Two women, one cross, but will history repeat itself?

One Hundred Years of Lent & Margot
An extraordinary friendship. A lifetime of stories.
Seventeen-year-old Lenni Pettersson lives on the Terminal Ward at the Glasgow Princess Royal Hospital. Though the teenager has been told she’s dying, she still has plenty of living to do. Joining the hospital’s arts and crafts class, she meets the magnificent Margot, an 83-year-old, purple-pajama-wearing, fruitcake-eating rebel, who transforms Lenni in ways she never imagined.
As their friendship blooms, a world of stories opens for these unlikely companions who, between them, have been alive for one hundred years. Though their days are dwindling, both are determined to leave their mark on the world. With the help of Lenni’s doting palliative care nurse and Father Arthur, the hospital’s patient chaplain, Lenni and Margot devise a plan to create one hundred paintings showcasing the stories of the century they have lived—stories of love and loss, of courage and kindness, of unexpected tenderness and pure joy.
Though the end is near, life isn’t quite done with these unforgettable women just yet.

The Paris Novel
I cannot wait for this book to arrive.
Stella reached for an oyster, tipped her head, and tossed it back. It was cool and slippery, the flavor so briny it was like diving into the ocean. Oysters, she thought. Where have they been all my life?
When her estranged mother dies, Stella is left with an unusual inheritance: a one-way plane ticket and a note reading “Go to Paris.” Stella is hardly cut out for adventure; a traumatic childhood has kept her confined to the strict routines of her comfort zone. But when her boss encourages her to take time off, Stella resigns herself to honoring her mother’s last wishes.
Alone in a foreign city, Stella falls into old habits, living cautiously and frugally. Then she stumbles across a vintage store, where she tries on a fabulous Dior dress. The shopkeeper insists that this dress was meant for Stella and for the first time in her life Stella does something impulsive. She buys the dress—and embarks on an adventure.
Her first stop: the iconic brasserie Les Deux Magots, where Stella tastes her first oysters and then meets an octogenarian art collector who decides to take her under his wing. As Jules introduces Stella to a veritable who’s who of the Paris literary, art, and culinary worlds, she begins to understand what it might mean to live a larger life.
As weeks—and many decadent meals—go by, Stella ends up living as a “tumbleweed” at famed bookstore Shakespeare & Company, uncovers a hundred-year-old mystery in a Manet painting, and discovers a passion for food that may be connected to her past. A feast for the senses, this novel is a testament to living deliciously, taking chances, and finding your true home.

OUTFIT OF THE DAY~ LET’S GET COZY

I say this often, the classics are my favorite and they fill my wardrobe. A classic stripped sweater can be worn with jeans. slacks, shorts, a skirt and even over a dress, it is a wardrobe staple. As are loafers, a trench and a cross body bag.
Lots of new arrivals at Tuckernuck!
