World on Fire, a WWII miniseries, a book for Francophiles and lots more on Monday Musings.

Good morning friends! Happy Monday. How was your weekend? I hope it was relaxing, restful and that you food a little respite from the heat.
We had a nice uneventful weekend. Friday we spent a little time at the pool, then had Mexican take out and a margarita. Saturday an early morning walk to the village for coffee and to pick up a few things at the farmers market. The best part, we saw 5 fawns on the walk. The are so sweet and seemed to be everywhere, including huddled under a bush for a little break from the sun.
Sunday I did laundry, worked on a few projects and that’s about it.
What about you? What did you do this weekend?
Ok, let’s get to the good stuff, what I read, watched and found this weekend.
MONDAY MUSINGS NO. 82
+5 THINGS

Damson Skies and Dragonflies : A Journey through the Seasons in the French Countryside
“Is it too much?” I mouth to my husband when the estate agent’s back is turned. I’m talking about the amount of work, not the asking price, as we survey the dilapidated state of the 300-year-old house. He gives me a knowing look, purses his mouth in a French way and shakes his head. He’s going to do a deal. The truth is, too much work or not, it’s too late. The fairy-tale cottage has spun her magic web around us, and we are her willing captives. As I set out on my voyage of discovery, will I enjoy a leisurely existence close to nature where I can cook with produce from my garden, or will country life not be as cosy I imagined?
This is the first enchantingly uplifting instalment in the Life at Les Libellules series and is perfect for fans of Janine Marsh, Frances Mayes and Peter Mayle.

Hi Elizabeth,
For some reason, I’m no longer receiving your blog via email. I tried resubscribing, to no avail. I’ve checked my spam too, and nothing there either. Do you know what could’ve happened?
Michelle, I am not sure what could have happened. I just looked at the subscription list and it has you listed and active. Let me see if there is something else I need to do or if it is just an email glitch. Thank you for letting me know! Have a great day.
