You kids and grandkids can help and that is always fun, especially licking the spoon.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats with Dark Chocolate and Peanut Butter Swirl
Ingredients for Bars
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup of unsalted butter
1 bag mini marshmallows, 10 oz.
4 cup crispy rice cereal
Ingredients for chocolate topping
2 tablespoons of melted peanut butter
Line an 8 x 8″ pan with tin foil and spray with cooking spray.
Once the mixture is melted and smooth add the mini-marshmallows and stir until melted and smooth.
Remove from the heat and stir in the cereal.
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan, be sure to spread evenly but don’t squish the treats down too much.
Chill the pan for 20 minutes, then spread the melted chocolate over the top and drizzle with melted peanut butter. Return to the refrigerator until chocolate is set.
Cut and enjoy.
1. These versatile treats can be made with any of your fav rite cereals, i.e, Special K, Corn Flakes, etc
2. Mini-marshmallows melt faster but if you do not have them use the large marshmallows.
3. If you want to skip to layer of chocolate then drizzle the treats with the peanut butter instead, they still taste delicious.
4. If you do not like peanut butter or have allergies, chocolate marshmallow treats are just as delicious.
That’s it, this recipe for peanut butter chocolate Rice Krispy bars could not get any easier or delicious. Make these no-bake treats for your next party, barbecue or picnic. Better yet, make a double batch because in the blink of an eye they will be gone.
