Patriotic Party Favors for the 4th of July
Forth of July has always been one of my favorite holidays. I remember as a child spending days decorating my bike or wagon with streamers and flowers for the parade and celebration in the park. At the end we would all snack on ice cream cups and Cracker Jack before we went home to a family bbq or to the lake to spend the day. Then it was off to the fireworks where we would munch or popcorn and cotton candy while the mosquitos munched on us.
Did you do the same as a child?

This year we are hosting a barbecue with family and friends and I am already making plans. My husband handles all of the grilling, and I am in charge of the sides, sweet treats and the table. I will be adding these cone favors for the guests to enjoy.
Ever since I made these Valentine’s Day favors I have been coming up with ways to use them for every holiday. It doesn’t get any easier than a sugar cone and some seasonal candy.
For these 4th of July Party Favors I used the leftovers from my 4th of July no churn ice cream that I shared last week. These patriotic party favors are the perfect compliment to the ice cream or the no-bake cheesecake, not to mention they are practically free because you already have most of the supplies if you made the ice cream.

- Assorted red, white and blue candies, like Hot Tamales, Cinnamon Balls, Gum Balls, Swedish Fish, etc

How to assemble 4th of July Party Favors
This “craft” is perfect to make with your children or your grandchildren, because it is easy and fun. Favor bags or goody bags are always a nice addition to a party, the guests can enjoy them now or later.
Dipped Cones
- Place melting wafers in 3 separate bowl, melt according to the package directions.
- Place a Silphat baking liner or wax paper on a baking sheet, set aside.
- Dip the cones into the melting wafers and set on waxed paper to harden. IF you want to dip the cones in multiple colors let each layer harden before moving on to the next.
- Or make a marbled swirl of the red white and blue melting wavers and dip the cones into it.
- Add colored sprinkles and sugar to the cones as well.
To assemble the favor, take an ice cream cone, place it in the cellophane bag and fill it up with your sweet treats and candy. Tie it with ribbon or twine and voila, you have a great 4th of July favor!
Tips
If you don’t want to use the sugar cones you can use craft paper to make a cones and fill that with candy. Michaels and Hobby Lobby both have have paper including an American flag design. These favors can be customized for any birthday party or occasion, including Christmas.
