My Easter Tablescape

 Create a gorgeous table for Easter with these simple ideas! This Easter table setting uses things you already have in your house, including Easter candy!

Good morning friends, Sunday is Easter, are you ready? Easter is one of my favorite holidays and was always a big deal in my family. I have fond memories of family dinners, celebrations with my grandparents and our beautiful candy filled easter baskets. In addition to our family Easter egg hunts, the bunny hid out baskets as well. Each one was filled with handmade chocolate covered marshmallow eggs, Peeps and a panoramic sugar egg among other things, wrapped in cellophane and tied with a panel bow.

After attending mass in our Easter dresses and bonnets(as kids) we returned home to a beautiful table set for dinner.

My Easter Tablescape

Creating a beautiful Easter table doesn’t have to be hard or filled with new pieces. Use what you have in your house, garden and cupboards. Pull out your everyday dishes or your fancy china, add some silver-plate bowls and platters as well and then embellish everything with candy, flowers, candles or whatever else is in your stash.

How to Create an Easter Tablescape

Tablecloth

I pulled out a few of my favorite finds and everyday items to decorate the table. I started with a tablecloth I had made from a piece of Colonial Williamsburg fabric, if you don’t have a tablecloth you could use a colorful scarf, sheet, or just a piece of vintage fabric. This piece has been in my collection for awhile and lucky for me it matches the decoupage eggs that I made a few years ago.

Dinnerware

Then I layered a white charger plate, with my standard white dinner plate, a white cotton napkin and vintage flower salad plates. Instead of a place card I added a chocolate bunny.

Purchasing salad or dessert plates for different seasons or holidays is a great way to add a touch of the holiday and to save money at the same time.

Centerpiece

In place of flowers I created a centerpiece of vintage silver-plate bowls filled with eggs, marshmallow eggs piled high on a bunny cake plate, and small  garden bowls filled with pastel candies.

Is there anything better than an edible decoration? A collection of ceramic birds and a scattering of eggs and candy complete the look.

Of course if you like flowers by all means make a centerpiece. I shared an  easy flower arrangement last week that I made with a recycled vase, candy and foraged flowers and herbs from my yard. You could make several of these arrangements and give them to your guests to take home.

Add Color

The bright fuchsia, pinks and green against the chocolate brown linen while not traditional Easter colors compliment the pastels of the candy, the eggs and the flowers on the salad plates.

You can also add color with drinking glasses, flowers, candles or even an edible dessert board.
