It’s Sweater weather! Gorgeous sweaters, a Fall nail trend, cosy books, a Christmas house tour and more on Weekend Meanderings.

Good Saturday morning friends, it’s time for weekend meanderings with Kim and Juliet.
I’m tired, as I type this I am sitting in bed with a cup of cocoa and three dogs. I think I may have a “lie in” this morning and start the day slow. Like many I have been glued to the computer catching up on all of the events surrounding Queen Elizabeth II funeral.
What an amazing sight to see. Hundreds of thousands of people standing in line for hours and hours and hours, in the rain and the heat and the cold to say goodbye. There are old, young, babies, soldiers, men, women, people in wheel chairs, and with walkers, of every nationality from the world over united in grief and love for the Queen. We will never see anything like this again and I find myself drawn to it again and again.
On another note, it’s almost sweater weather and today on weekend meandering I have some gorgeous sweaters, a Fall nail trend, cosy books, a Christmas house tour and more.
WEEKEND MEANDERINGS
Sweater Weather~It’s Time to Get Cosy
Autumn officially begins with the autumnal equinox on September 22, just 5 days away. I wish Mother Nature would just flip a switch and cool things off but unfortunately that is not the way things work. According to the Farmers Almanac some of us will experience a cooler than normal fall and others the opposite, hotter than normal. Ok, hopefully I am in the cooler then normal zone because I am hot and I am tired of being hot.

This week I organized my closet and moved my summer things aside to make room for my warmer fall and winter clothes. One of the first things to emerge from the closet is my sweaters. I LOVE sweater weather! Cool crisp days that are not cold enough for a jacket but instead call for a t-shirt or blouse with a cardigan or pull-over.

While technically a blazer this beautiful camel “sweater” is one of my all time favorite pieces I found this fall. It is a classic piece that you will have and wear for years.

At H&M I like this oversized sweater, this turtleneck and this long cardigan to name just a few.

One more for the road! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this sweater!

Speaking of Sweaters, Mug Sweaters
Sweater mugs or mug sweaters are available everywhere this year to add a little whimsy to your life and table.

Cocoa Nails
According to the “experts” the new neutral for fall nails is cocoa? You know me, I love cocoa and hot chocolate in a cup, but I’ve never thought of cocoa on my nails. Milky latte, rich chocolate, deep espresso are just of few of the shades you will see this year. What do you think?

Elizabeth, I am so ready for cozy weather! We were lucky to get 70 degree days all this week and I even put on jeans and a cardigan yesterday, so nice. It’s been months since I wore jeans here. I am watching all the Queen stuff 24/7 and it’s fantastic on SkyTV on Youtube. They are like the BBC and live all the time at Westminster and so many great human interest stories about the queen with them. You’d love it. How cute these sweater mugs are and I need to try making one too.. Love your soups. That one looks really good. I need to order the laundry Love book. I watch his website and do all the tips thanks to Juliet’s sharing of him. My laundry is so fast now.. and looks better. Some gorgeous sweaters too.. Love the Camel jacket. Oh and I just had my nails done in a cocoa color! It’s perfect for fall.. Have a lovely weekend. xo
Love brown nail polish that’s all I wear.Find it lasts much longer too.
Fall has arrived here too in my backyard!THE LEAVES ARE FALLING!
Good morning, Elizabeth! I’m so ready for sweaters and soup and all things fall. Loving the cocoa nail polishes. Fabulous. I’m going to get some for my next mani/pedi. It’s suddenly feeling very fall here, but still warm enough and I’m going to grab a book and curl up on the patio. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! xo
Have a good weekend.
I am so ready for the temps to cool down in FL, summer is long and hot! I really miss wearing sweaters in the Fall and the changing of the leaves! Oh well, I’ll just have to buy some cocoa colored nail polish and pretend it’s Fall! Thanks for all the amazing inspiration!
Elizabeth,
So ready for sweater weather! We are in France where temps were in the high 80s and now we are waking up to the low 50s, so indeed sweater weather!
