Weekend Meanderings
Good Saturday morning friends. It’s time for Weekend Meanderings with Kim and Juliet. Join us as we share all of the things that piqued our interests and caught our eye this week.
Yippee! It’s almost Fall, just a few more days, 2 to be exact. I know that there are people that suffer from SAD during Fall and Winter but I am the opposite, Summer is just not my thing. The cooler weather, long dark nights and cozy activities rejuvenate me. My Fall bucket list runneth over and I cannot wait to get to it, if only the weather would cooperate and bring back sweater weather.
What is your favorite thing about Fall?
I’ll go first, crisp morning walks with leaves crunching under my feet, the scent of a fire wafting through the air and long days baking anything with pumpkin or apples.
On a separate note, thank you for your overwhelmingly kind comments about last weeks’s post. It was so nice to be able to vent and to have meaningful conversations with several of you and to hear your opinions.

We have a quiet weekend planned, this morning we are biking to the village to watch the blessing of the animals and to get a few things at the farmers market. It’s my first time on my bike since my crash, wish me luck. Then we are meeting my sister for lunch and that is about it.
Sunday after mass we are hanging pictures. My husband recently had his office painted and he has a stack of paintings and other things to hang. We also have a few pieces of art for the powder bathroom.
It’s also game day for the KC Chiefs, I won’t be watching but I will be making some “game day” food. Probably chili but maybe Korean beef tacos? I guess the menu is still to be determined. Do chocolate chip cookies count as game day food?
What do you have planned for the weekend? Whatever it is, I hope that you have fun! Now let’s meander.

On My Radar~Fall Home

Elizabeth! Chocolate chip cookies absolutely qualify as football food! Sounds like you and Bill have the perfect weekend planned, and I’m confident your bike ride will be a success. I’m a huge fan of cauliflower soup … and this looks delish. I love fall too and soup is one of the top reasons … although I indulge in soup year-round. I’m going to make another cup of cocoa and settle in to watch your linked videos. Chateau restoration … yes, please. And I’m excited to see the Giannetti’s new upstairs apartment. They’re life on the farm certainly look idealic. Happy weekend! xo
Hi Elizabeth,
I love all the video’s you mentioned thank you! I will have so much fun watcing them during my husband’s football weekend! Have a lovely one!
That pizza looks delicious! Like you, I am simply not a summer person. I hate the heat.
Brenda
Brenda, I hope that you are enjoying some beautiful Fall weather!
Have a lovely weekend.
Can’t wait to come back and deep dive into all the interesting stories you’ve posted. The comment about we had enough and it was enough reminded me what I used to say to my children when they were young, we have a roof over our head and a meal to eat and jobs that allow us to have that, what more do we need. Enjoy your weekend.
Rita,
I loved that comment too! At the end of the day most of us have enough but for whatever reason we feel like enough is sometimes not enough.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Elizabeth, I hope you have a good weekend. I missed about your crash? When was that? I hope you are doing okay. Best of luck on your bike ride. The blessing of the animals sounds sweet. Love that.
Enjoy the football. I think cookies count!
I can’t wait to try your fall pizza and cauliflower soup. Both look so good. I am a fall person and I love the change of weather, the clothes and the pretty colors! Plus I hate the heat. Yay for fall.
I will sit down and watch all your great videos later this afternoon. Love the outfits and that sweater with ruffles is darling. I hope you have a great weekend! xo
Good morning Kim,
The bike ride was great. I think you will love the soup, it is so easy to make and easy to customize with spices and flavors that you love.
The videos are so interesting, especially the wisdom of the elders.
Have a wonderful weekend my friend.
xo
Hi Elizabeth,
I did listen to Marjorie Lux (sp.?) I really like her and her out look on life. She has it together. I like having friends like her, you learn so much, plus a person that sees the light has a good soul.
Good for you, getting back on your bike. That means you must be fully healed. I know from what you share the bike rides bring you peace of mind.
Enjoy your weekend.
Katherine, it is so interesting to listen to the stories and lives these people have lived, and in every story is a nugget of inspiration for the rest of us.
Have a beautiful weekend!
Elizabeth – I’ll have to come back this afternoon and watch the video about restoring a chateau in France…even a cottage interests me, but I fear many would require more money than I’d be willing to part with…but it’s still fun to dream.
Sorry to hear about your crash….I read in the comments that your bike ride was successful yesterday. That is good news! It’s scary!
