Good morning friends, Christmas is 2 weeks away, how did that happen? It feels like I blinked and missed it, and the odd thing is that I haven’t done nearly the shopping, baking, shipping, decorating and all of the other things I have done in the past. I don’t know what I’ve been doing but I’ve been busy. How are things going at your house?

This weekend I am baking, I have two boxes to ship on Monday and then I am finished for now, the rest I will be doing Christmas week with my mom, I cannot wait!

Do you make homemade gifts to give to friends and family? Me too, typically food gifts but I have made a few “crafty things” in the past, a blog friend wrote about the beautiful and amazing gifts that her family make for one another each year and it has inspired me to “step up” my game for next year. This year my peeps are getting their favorite foods.

Rosemary and Tarragon Spiced Nut Mix

This is an easy nut mix to share and to serve with nuts, cheese, charcuterie trays and drinks. Put them in a fancy bowl or jar tie with ribbon and add a bottle of wine or spirits.

Union Square Cafe Bar Nuts

Sweet, spicy, salty these nuts cover all the bases and are perfect to have at your holiday parties and to gift. I like to put them in cellophane bags, tie them with string and give them as hostess gifts of party favors.

Cranberry Liquor

Cranberry cordial/liquor is the perfect accompaniment for these snacks, it it not hard to make and it is delicious aline, in champagne and as a mixer for other drinks. Homemade Irish cream is another great drink you can make at home, I have used this recipe in the past.

This coming week will mean working extra hours to get things done – although this year it will be much less due to my back issue – and our Christmas will be quiet.
Hope you and your family enjoy every moment.
